Craving

Well, this is my 4th weekend that I won't be drinking but man am I CRAVING. I was looking at all inclusive resorts in books and just remembered the all you can drink that accompanies those trips.
The thought of going on a trip doesn't even seem fun anymore.
ugghhhh.. not easy.

It's not easy Joanne, it isn't. But, it's so worth it.

Hang in there. You can still enjoy all the vacations you can dream of and be sober.

No one said that this would be easy, however it does get different. A craving only last for 7 seconds it is what we do after that 7 seconds that makes it go on longer. Try to get up from whatever you are doing and do something different, read, write, watch a movie, just change your thoughts might be a good thing to say the Serenity Prayer.

God

grant me the serenity

to accept the things that I can not change

Courage to change the things that I can

and the wisdom to know the difference

Keep saying that over and over and concentrate on the words and what they mean to you.

My husband doesn't understand

My husband is a very practical and rational kind of guy and really doesn't understand addictions and anxiety. He thinks the reason I have problems with alcohol is because I drank too much when I was younger. He thinks I can just switch it off and not think about it. He then tells me I don't have nothing to feel anxious about.. ugghhhhhh....
