Joz,
I am so glad that you found Sober Recovery. It is a great place to find help and support and a safe haven to come and talk. Express yourself and find the help you need.
Hang in there and Congratulations on your decision for yourself.

take it down to one minute at a time if you need to. I think everyone would agree the most important step is admitting we are powerless over the drug/alcohol. There is a wonderful light at the end of detox, lifes ups and downs are sooo much better without the drugs! Praying for you

Scared is good, but it doesn't feel that way. We're used to medicating our feelings, but have a clue that that doesn't work so well. But it's certainly a good reason to be open minded about doing something else.

Joz-I know God heard your prayer because he heard me and many(many, many, many) others when they said the same simple prayer. Stay in the moment, talk to others, get back to a meeting if you can, keep posting and it is OK to distract yourself. Go easy and remember God loves you and you are not alone. tk

Posting here in the beginning was such a blessing to me, going to meetings came next. Either setting I find that in recovery we need to share what is on our mind that is "stinking thinking", and talk it out with those further in their sobriety. Being honest with myself and others was new for me, but oh how freeing it is! Keep coming back....

Hi Joz,
Nice to see you back again. Prayer is a tremendous tool and these people here have been the angels on my shoulder and a place I know I am welcome too. Stick around and find some comfort here when you need it!
Keep going forward.
