Question Topic: Do You Believe Recovery To Be A Mystery And Miracle?

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR. I havent found
it necessary to take a drink of
Alcohol since 8-11-90.
For that im truely grateful

AA/NA meetings are not about me.
It's a WE program where no matter
how far down the mountain we have
plummeted, we can be made well if
we are willing to follow AA/Na's
suggested program of recovery.

RARELY HAVE WE SEEN A PERSON FAIL
WHO HAS NOT THOROUGHLY FOLLOWED OUR PATH.

HOWEVER, WE HAVE SEEN PERSONS
FAIL WHO RARELY FOLLOW OUR PATH.

Do you believe RECOVERY to be a
mystery and a miracle?

Thanks for letting me share here.

I know a lot of people who think my sobriety is a miracle!

I was so willing to become sober. I had hit my rock bottom and there was no other way out but suicide. I chose to live. A miracle? Not in this case. Sobriety looked pretty damn good from where my head was at.

I think recovery is miraculous and also practical. my HP certainly stopped me drinking and using and I do the footwork every day.

So Life is a Miracle and footwork.

thanks Sharon for a thoughtful question,
and to everyone for your replies. I like what Rusty Zipper (patrick) said about being sober is natural, and nature is miraculous.

My sobriety feels just like that. Natural. Magical. Miraculous.

Thank you!

Because my sobriety came almost accidentally, yet others struggle MIGHTILY and with all their heart... I believe it is a mystery.

I believe in those whose desire to be sober is greater than mine ever was... yet cannot string together more than a few weeks or days.... yet they keep trying. That so many finally make it... is a miracle.

For the great number who never make it in... it is a tragedy.

For me ,Recovery is a Miracle,....as In my heart i Never thought Id do or be anything other than an addict,...stuck in a rut of deep deperssion unable to see any light or Hope,....!
So as im now at the end of my detox.....I can see the red tape,......and This time I Know im not going to fall over just before i reach the end.....!

Life has changed so much for me and continues too Daliy,...it's scarry,....but I am willing,....as yes,... I want to Live a full long life....and see the things i never thought i would...and Understand things i Never, ever saw,.....Before I came into Recovery...!

Miracle.........

Thanks
