Hop on the Newbie Bus Part 3
Morning Steve and Rusty.
Yep teh weather and teh fire season
The visibility is down to a few yards as thick smoke covers most of our state from fires burning out of control In remote forest areas. Tempatures will be over 100 F today and everything is so dry its so very dangerous, keep us in mind.
Anyway its Saturday

My thoughts and prayer's are being sent to you down under...
Our western states have an awful time with wild fires, many of them are intentionally set...
Sad and pathetic someone would do that...
I give the firefighters utmost credit fighting those fires in such hellish conditions...
Have a GREAT sober Saturday Kevin...
One day at a time.

First day
I guess I should give some history to get it started. I've been drinking beer heavily for about 28 years. I have been having pains in my lower back for some time now. I figure it is my kidneys telling me their not well. I always played it off as a bad back which I do have. Should I see a doctor? Is their anything I can do to detox my body at home?
T.O. welcome to recovery, and SR... i self-detoxed... three plus years clean and sober... do your body, mind and yourself a big favour... see a doctor... and the right one!
if you have it in you.. read more about the alcoholic, and clean'n up... mind, body and soul... i wish you all the best... and will help if i can...
xxoo, zip...
hiya steve and kev...

Hi all,
I just joined here. My brother is an alcoholic who had a period of almost 8 months of sobriety, but has started drinking heavily again about a month ago. He is living with my mom right now, and causing her all kinds of worry, staying out all night again, and he always seems to get in trouble when drinking and she calls me all the time worried sick. He's probably moving out in January and we're terrified that without any checks and balances he will be completely out of control. I'm not sure what the best way to support her and him is, especially since it's very clear he wants to drink. He says he cannot have a normal social life without drinking and that he's too young to just sit home every night and it's not fair because a lot of people drink and they don't get labeled alcoholics. Anyway, hello, and I'll be wandering over to the Friends and Family section now!

Welcome to SR, T.O. and WAB...
T.O... I agree that it would be a good idea to see you Doctor and get a physical...
WAB...About the only thing you can do for your brother is give him support and let him know that your concerned about him. Until an alcoholic is ready to quit that is about all that can be done. You have come to the right place to get support and advice...
Stick around ya'll...
This site and the people here saved my life. I was in an alcoholic free fall and I was caught before I hit bottom thanks to the people here...

PS...Grab a seat on the bus and enjoy the ride.
