Speechless
Speechless
Good Morning All!!!!
Yes, I know it is hard to believe but I was actually speechless, yup, ME, the windiest person you will ever meet!!!!
I have vented so many times to ya'll about my Dad drinking and smoking and downing me for working towards a life of complete sobriety etc.
The other night though, he actually sat me down and apoligized!!!
He told me he was sorry, that he hadnt even noticed how hard I have been trying etc. He told me he is proud of me and even if I slip, going from a case of beer a day to none is amazing....AND.....he admitted that he couldnt do it!!!
Now mind you, this wasnt done completely on his own, my dear hubby had a pow-wow with him a couple weeks ago while Mom and I were out and hubby kinda flat out told him that he needed to wake up and realize that it would not kill him to at least acknowledge my efforts.
I was stunned to say the least, I never expected him to say a word that wasnt negative. So I am giving credit where credit is due. I thanked him and we talked for a long time. We solved some issues and things are much better between us because of it.
Also, Big Giant Kudos to my hubby.......he knew it was eating at me and took control of the situation without me even knowing and then he never said a word to me, I had to ask him if he indeed said anything!!!!
Thanks for listening and letting me share!!!!
Love Liss

Ive been reading your post about your Dad and then I read the quotation that **** Ma has at the bottom of her posts. It seemed appropriate...
“When you get into a tight place and...it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and the time that the tide will turn.” -Harriet Beecher Stowe

Between this one and the "Unbelievable" post, it sounds like your Dad might have an evil twin (like I do except that I don't let mine out to play anymore).
I'd ignore the evil twin and focus on trying to interact with "Dad" when he's around.
