Just Glad
Nothing chirpy or funny or witty or meaningful to say today. Just glad to be here clean and sober. I realise today that its such a gift.

You are correct sobriety is a wonderful gift as is the peace of taking your addiction in hand and dealing with it rather than running from it.

I'm just glad yesterday is past. It was a grumbly one.
I'm glad that today I have the option of making it a better day.
I'm glad that no matter how grumbly I get to feeling, it doesn't compare to the messed up out of control feeling of being drunk or hungover.
I'm glad that you started this thread so I can look at all you guys being silly today on the serenity bench.

I'd like to stop by the bench too. Can never be enough serenity around--or too many friends!
Coincidentally, today's reading in the book we use for the Saturday meetings was all about Serenity.
Here's some excerpts:
...to have a crisis and act upon it is one thing.
To dwell in perpetual crisis is another.
--Barbara Grizzuti Harrison
I will take action against every crisis confronting me--I will turn to God.
Each crisis is an invitation to serenity.
from "Each Day a New Beginning" by Karen Casey

Plenty of room on the bench
I could have a lazy day today but I think I will do a liitle housework and a bit of work too and maybe hit a meeting later.
Still grateful for this precious gift of life.
