I have cut my sleep med (trazadone) down to a third without consulting Drs. My days and nights are totally messed up too. It is so hard not to take a nap, but I must try to right this.
Anyway, you are not alone.
I like the chamomille herb tea for relaxing too...it seems to help.

This helped me sleep when my panic attacks were really bad. I did the focused breathing (in through the nose making your stomach rise, then let it out slowly with cheeks puffed and lips touching) but the trick was to put the cat on my stomach and be even and quiet enough so she didn't roll off or move. Works with a slightly overfilled water bottle too - just doesn't purr.

Arura,

I didn't go into work today either. I was too damned tired, achy and dizzy.
Tonight I am going to take 2/3 dosage of the damned trazadone. And early in the evening.

I like the deep breathing thing, too.
Nevertheless, I am going to have to take the sleep med prescribed.
I am bringing alot of this on myself by not doing so.
It sure is hard not to lay down...I even want to kid myself that I am going to just lay down and read some recovery type stuff. What a joke, I would fall asleep.
I am hanging on here just to keep me out of the bed.

Maybe something one of your countrymen wrote will help:

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That's the thing.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It's your last chance, anyhow.
So,...

Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]

Life's a piece of ****,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke it's true.
You'll see it's all a show.
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]
Be happy you didn't drink, and while things are seeming to conspire against you at the moment, remember at least you know you can get into a deep sleep. Things will get better. As they say there, but not in the states, "keep your pecker up, mate."

/oh, and may I borrow your rubber?

I love English, I mean American, or is it Canadian. Definitely not Australian.

It's big at funerals, eh? You always were a strange bunch. I think I'll request it for my funeral.

Actually, I was kinda disappointed at King Kong. I don't mind CGI characters if they have a point to the plot, but when they're done just to show off the technology, it's kind of pointless. I guess I wasn't in as "suspension of disbelief" mood last night. Oh, well.

I'm off to look for a bicycle shop now. Wish me luck
