One Week!!!
Well today it's official - I HAVE MADE IT ONE WEEK WITHOUT ALCOHOL! 
i haven't made it for a week in well over 2 years... i still can't believe i did it! the first couple of days were total anxiety, i felt like i was gonna die! then it just turned into this black depression i would get for about 1-2 hours a night, especially on the weekend - last night was bad to, i called my poor husband for support, and ended up hanging up on him - i did call him back later and apologize to him. but as i went to bed last night, i thought "holy cow - you made it 1 week!" and i felt i really accomplished something!
plus now - i just feel good, i'm not all bloated from beer, and i'm sleeping great at night - i am going to continue to stay sober, and this site will play a HUGE part in that i'm sure!
i truly know the meaning now of "one day at a time". the last few years i would "plan" my drinking so it didn't seem as bad, and i figured if i waited a couple of days, then drank a six pack - it didn't seem as bad. I found my self starting to plan again over this past weekend (which i think is why i was so depressed!) and i had to stop myself - i thought just make it through the day, and see what happens tomorrow - and it worked! by the time tomorrow came around, i didn't want to drink and break my streak and i felt i was thinking more clearly - so i just tackled each new day as it came!
i'm so greatful to everyone here! WE CAN DO THIS! WE CAN STAY SOBER!

That's great FallGirl and you CAN do this!
It is bizarre the way our addict minds work and rationalize things, isn't it. But, you're doing great and feeling good, so that's wonderful.

Kudos to you FallGirl!!!!! You are doing great and you sound great!

We just have to quit keeping snakes handy - you're doing well at that. Keep it up.
