I think this might be helpful for all the new folks. Although it's not too helpful if its wrong so feel free to correct me. I'm so glad that this thread is up and running again. I'm having my coffee and looking forward to a cool and rainy, but highly productive week.

Take care.

Hi everyone, and it's good to meet all the new folks!
Thanks for re-starting this, Scotty
I live in the western U.S. and have been away for a while. It's nice to check back here.
Has anyone seen Max around?
Take care everybody, and be good to yourselves!

Hiya Jane!
No Max for a while. We pm'ed in July because I was threatening to look him up while I was out in Seattle but then we lost connection.
Calling out to Maxxxx: Yooooooooooo Hoooooooooooo~~~~~~ Call home!

I know that Kevin (Nogard) is doing wonderfully and is still actively posting around here (have you seen his hair?) .
I was keeping in touch with Etimee via e-mail but haven't heard anything in a while.
How fun it is to get the bunch together. It really made a difference to have a group to feel like I was accountable to someone other than me. It also gives me someone to offer a boost on their bad day.
Come one, come all!! Where is sun rising right now?????

Hisashiburi (long time, no see).
Whenever I see your name I always think of The Jetsons where George is yelling, "Jane, get me off this crazy thing!"--pretty much how I felt when drinking. I'm getting a funny suspicion that I should be thinking more literary though. Oh, well, what's an English degree worth anyway.
Take care.

oh my gosh!! Rae, I can't believe the coincidence of you logging on right when michael started up the thread again.
I'm so glad to hear your upbeat tone. It would be great to hear from you once a day (no middle of the night potty breaks this time?)
btw, in case you didn't see the switch, I changed my name from winelover. It just didn't seem to fit my new attitude.

I am trying to keep myself on the right path in my recovery program and know that taking walks daily in the outdoors among the wild animals is cool.................I get to see lots of deer and their babies and I think it is neat to be so close to such animals...........................My program takes me on neat walks each day ...........I work my program while taking these walks and love every minute....................Have a good day everyone and check in with you another time...............................Love ya all...............Little Penguin

Hey Rae!!
It's great to hear from you. I'm glad you said you're progressing, even if slowly. You are the reason we all have this thread. I'm just glad for the amazing timing!
To all the new folks, welcome. I get such good vibes here. I just love that this is such a positive thread; I get enjoyment every time I read this.
Well, I'm getting ready to go look for a bicycle shop, ironically on my moped. I wish I could just look in the yellow pages, but that task is more difficult than quitting drinking 9 days ago, seriously. Japanese only has 3 writing systems, 4 with the English alphabet. 2 of them are no problem, but the 3rd is the Chinese characters (called kanji), of which there are about 2,000 in daily use. Each character can have between 1 and 9 pronunciations! Ugghh. Well, it's my choice to live here and it gives me something to keep busy with. Oh, well, it forces me to explore more too.
Take care.
