Been struggling

First of all I need to introduce myself and I have trying to get sober for over 2 years and been bounce in and out of AA. I had almost 5 months until I relaspe last week on alcohol when I was down in FL for a few days. But I relasped more significantly this past weekened where I was on a alcohol and cocaine binge. My run ending with oxycotictin pills. I also little history with herion. My goal is to find and to get clean and sober one day at a time in AA. Any help could be used here thanks.

Hi Findhigherpower,

Welcome!

There is lots of information here and lots of support too.

You were sober for 5 months and that's great and I'm sure you can do it again. Keep posting and take a look around the boards. You'll be inspired.

Thanks. The main thing to keeps us away from a drink or drug is God. I have lost my spritual connection and obession has came back.

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

Glad to meet u findhigherpower and welcome to Sober Recovery.

Going back to the beginning when you first got sober is a good place to start.

Learning to crawl before you walk in recovery is necessary.

The First Step states:

WE ADMITED WE WERE POWERLESS OVER ALCOHOL AND OUR LIVES HAD BECOME UNMANAGABLE.

Some will suggest 90 meetings in 90 days. That would be another good way to refresh ur memory on recovery.

Find you someone comfortable to talk to. Someone to call if u feel like u want to drink because you dont want to drink, right?

Suggestions of changing people, places and things that would remind u of alcohol. In order to stay sober....i had to get all the alcohol out of my house, stay out of the clubs and leave those so called friends behind.

So u go to meetings....AA, STEP MEETINGS and BIG BOOK STUDIES.....
Sponsor.....
Change people, places and things.....
Read ur BIG BOOK.....
HP

I went to many many meetings when i got out of a 28 day rehab. They handed me the tools and knowledge of recovery and set me on the path of recovery to learn how to stay sober one day at a time.

Hold on tight, listen, ask for what u need ...help.....cuz u never have to go thru recovery alone.

Thanks for letting me share.
