Thanks Zencat 🙂.
Amazing how habitual it becomes. May be part of our nature but if i miss my walk i feel sluggish all day, my head isn't in the right place and I'm just not right in general.
That being said i highly recommend it as part of a recovery plan. It has served me very well.

Isn't it amazing how relatively small daily rituals can make such a difference to the quality of our consciousness? I take a few minutes after I make my morning tea, to sit by the window that looks into my backyard. I watch for birds, look at the sky and the plants, and just savor the beauty and peace that exists in this small corner of nature. Days when I skip this, usually my head is not in the right place.

So true Tursiops. Im just about to leave in the fog this morning so i will give you one from rugby training last night. Can't believe its going to be cold and wet in another month or so up here with full flood lights on and side ways rain 🙂.

I will have to look back on this one to remind myself it was nice in the beginning of the season.

The sun is positioned perfectly between the goalposts!

Out of interest, roughly what time was the picture taken? The sun is setting but it's still high enough up to clear the crossbar.

To be honest, AL, I prefer your autumn/winter pics. It saves me having to go outside 🤣

Actually, with my recent holidays and hedonistic (expensive) goings on, my exercise has taken a back seat lately - my work trousers seem to have shrunk ☹️ I need to make more effort come rain or shine.

You've just burst my bubble, Al. All this time I thought you just caught perfect photos. Now you tell me there is a Google eraser...

In all seriousness though - I really love your pictures.Thank you for keeping this going. It's a happy spot.

Bizarre you had the Sahara dust clouds before we did, AL! I’m probably getting my days mixed up, but I’m sure I woke up Thursday to find my black car (never clean anyway) was now desert coloured! I had to pay 8 to have it cleaned, a rare occurrence!

I bought the car in 2013, and it’s now approaching 200000 miles. It’s seen a lot of action and empty beer cans and even wine bottles over the years. I would “only” have one drink if driving, I did have some sense of responsibility even then, but it was very poor behaviour when I (hypocritically) think drivers shouldn’t drink at all. The car’s not seen any beer cans since 2018 and is usually clean(ish) inside. I just hope it lasts a few more years as I’m not a car person and prefer spending/wasting my money elsewhere 🙂

Mines the same age Hodd 170000km. Nothing really in the last two as walking has taken over. Today and tomorrow are apparently the end of yhis heatwave we are having so hopefully out on the river again tomorrow morning.
Had another sober 51st birthday yesterday and i got a 5mm wetsuit (my wife has every intention of getting me into that cold beach water) and dryrobe as gifts, how things have changed over the last 2+ years that im getting these items and im so happy to receive them. On another note great win for France last night in the Rugby World Cup.

Happy 51st, AL 👍 I hope that wetsuit and dryrobe get some use 🙂 My local lake encourages cold water swimming (we’re talking November), but I’m not sure it’s safe after about October.

Happy Birthday!

tursiops and I will vouch for several millimeters of neoprene between that water and us. I have a 7mm full suit and a 5mm overall shortie with hood. I need both of them layered here in the Pacific NW.

Thanks Biminiblue. I'm so tempted now for that swim. It dosen't get as cold here thanks to the gulfstream and being on the south coast helps. I just hate the sandy beaches it goes everywhere. Probably those sand filled sandwiches when i was young. I really shouldn't complain about that im so lucky to have it next to me.

Yes Bim, thank goodness for neoprene! AL, happy birthday, and neoprene always makes a fabulous birthday gift! I wear 5 mm in the tropics -- when the water is 79F / 26C. While diving, I don't move around much unless I have to, so I need all the insulation I can get.
