Hi RAL, Happy to see you here! Congratulations on your week! I'm really excited to start a new month still being sober. A couple times I was worried I might not get through January.

Morning everyone
Hi Gaz -I've just read your thread-very moving and I can relate to it. I'm late (very late!) 40s and really paying the price now for years of drinking without thinking of any health consequences.
Hi Five & Snitch.
Feeling pretty ok as awfulness of first few days has gone. Problem now I feel better is the danger time. Got through last weekend so no reason why I can't do this weekend too. I have a plan. Working today and tomorrow. Going to Thursday evening meeting and a meeting Friday morning at 8am. Thurs danger time for me as end of working week. Stupid as I still have to get up to get kids off to school.
I haven't missed drinking. Well maybe the habit, the physical thing of drinking. But I've been keeping busy in the evening. Jigsaw addict and watching reruns of Silent Witness. Will be easier when the lighter nights arrive as can walk and stuff. Started to exercise last week too but overdid it and been ill so had to pause that. Will restart today or tomorrow. Can't do everything at once!
Just feels so good to sleep better and wake up sober. Even groggy and tired is better than hungover.
Anyway, just writing out my jumbled thoughts. Hope everyone has a good day x
