Class Of December 2022 Part 2
I am sorry for your loss ZB.
I’m glad you talked RunnerF- it would be great if our loved ones could give us support, but sometimes for various reasons that’s just not the case. At least you’ll always find support here

Thanks all for your support.
It wasn’t the response I wanted but it was what I expected.
Will do my best to hang tough and do the right thing.
Zenith boy. Sorry for the loss of your brother. Sad he didn’t have his wife’s support. I am sure that was hard for him and is hard for her now.

Just in case anyone doesn't know
We'll move this thread at the end of the month so that the new monthly thread (January 2023) can take its place here in Newcomers forum.
This December 2022 thread stays intact, but moves to the Daily Support forum.
Some members, may prefer to move to January's thread, but there's no rule about that at all - stay here, move, or post in both - it's really up to you
I wanted to remind everyone you're all very welcome to keep posting in this thread.
It will keep going!

Hi, Venuscat!
It’s been a pretty good day! I’m busy at work and have my dance class scheduled tonight. I did have something interesting happen to me….a coworker brought Christmas gifts for everyone today, and one of the gifts for me was GIN.
I thought about having a shot, but why would I do that? I gave it away instead!
I hope you’re having a fantastic day!

You gave it away......fantastic!!!!
I hope you have a fabulous dance class tonight. ❤️
I am watching Hacks; I put it off, knowing there would not be a lot of great shows at this time of year, and I am having a ball. What an awesome-to-the-max tv show this is.

Takeaction, good for you for giving away the Gin.
Runner, I'm sorry that your wife isn't supportive, but as you said, we are all here for you. You know you're doing the right thing.

I was just thinking about you, Zen.
I think you are a tech head like me, and I am betting you noticed that Google Lens (PITA) is hard to get rid of now, which makes it difficult to search for images.
If you know what I am on about and what the fix, I have it. (Insert evil laugh...take that, Google! ).

Hang In there ZB
Just chill for the day. Rest up a tad. Done for the day
"Much suffering, much unhappiness arises when you take each thought that comes into your head for the truth." - Eckhart Tolle
I had to give it away! I don’t think I trusted myself completely to take it home. The amount of alcohol being given as gifts in the workplace is astounding.
Going into the new year a plan has already been put into action. I started my life’s resolution 23 days ago, and I couldn’t be happier. Grateful for sobriety and all of you

Good morning all sorry relapsed this morning after 9 days sober will get back on track tomorrow seeing as I’ve had a drink tonight. Congrats on all your days sober. Just wish I could stick with it I find it so hard especially when I’m hearing so many voices (psychosis)
Hi lovely people, you're all doing such interesting things to stay clean! I'm on day five here, mostly just cleaning the house and re-watching Parks and Recreation from scratch. Plus cuddling the dogs. I've only been on day 5 twice in the last four years, so I'm feeling really hopeful. Take care all xxxx
Good morning friends,
. It's another peaceful morning here.
Time to sit and reflect on the things I'm grateful for.
Having coffee with my sweet cat,
She's quite the daddy's girl.
I went and did some New years grocery shopping yesterday morning before the crowds hit.
So I will just spend a quiet day at home.
Misstqueen - I know this is so tough for you.
I will keep you in my prayers.
Please keep trying.
Have you seen a doctor for the voices issue?
Stillsleeping- congrats on 5 days. I enjoy binge watching sitcoms too. I never watched "the office" when it ran. But I enjoy that as well as old Frazier episodes. I'll have to check out Parks.
I pledge sobriety for today.
Best wishes to all!

Hey SR. Think I'm on day 10? Glad to be done with Christmas, not my favourite time of year. I like New Years though, fresh start and all.
I got some nice Christmas presents. Clothes and smokes from the folks. My friend, who inexplicably has faith that I'll be a better person one day, got me a Change journal. It has 24 weeks and each week there's reading and daily exercises and stuff etc. And he continues to invite me to NA meetings which I attend occasionally. He also got me some running gear, Asics hat and gloves for the cold weather. I've been out for a few runs and they've been nice. I got him a voucher for a luxury mens clothes shop in my town so I'm hoping I'll get to see him again soon. I'm just not in the right headspace to visit him in Dublin right now.]
I was about 100e over my overdraft limit and the bank have been sending me letters but today I threw in 100e to be swallowed up by the abyss. Trying to be more financially responsible. Giving up smoking for New Years might help with that. Or at least cut down.
Hey Misstqueent. I've had a lot of psychosis over the years. Sorry you're going through that. I don't really have any advice because everyone is different and I'm fortunate I respond to certain meds. I hope you're getting help and things get better. I get drinking over voices. For me, alcohol quietens them a little or makes things more bearable. And it works fast. Sucks about the relapse, been there way too often myself. Hope you don't have much of a hangover and your day 1 goes smoothly.

Happy Friday!
My quote for the day was,
”Sell your cleverness, buy bewilderment.” - Rumi
I also like,
”You thought God was an architect,
now you know,
He’s something like a pipe bomb ready to blow. And everything you built that’s all for show goes up in flames.” - Jason Isbell
God definitely blew up my “show” of a life.
What a world of bewildering, shocking, burning beauty and growth and chaos! Today I am grateful for my lovely, grace-filled corner of mess.
Blessings!
