Thanks advbike, Free, Dee, and Least. Hope you all had a great day whether you celebrated it or not.

Accountability: Doing well with no desire whatsoever, does not even come into my radar, despite the stress/annoyance of having to go over to my sister's yesterday for a bit in the evening. During the dinner Mr. A and I made for his Mom and the 2 other guests she and her friend went through a bottle of wine and it did not even phase me and she no longer asks if I want a glass. She has no idea about my issues with alcohol and has always offered me something to drink when she is and I politely decline. Mr. A has to head back out of town at the end of next week and that is usually a trigger because he is triggered by some issues too and brings them up when he is away which sets me off. I need to get a plan in place to mitigate this. I would gladly take any insight/ideas

"Let's talk about this when you're back home."

"No, really, let's talk about this when you're back home."

"That's enough. We'll discuss it when you're back home."

Thanks Caramel. I hope it won't be like the last 2 trips. It was rough. The one previous to these 2 were fine.
Keeping my focus alive, it needs to be. I visited my Mom at the hospital today. She seems a bit better, not great, but better. I probably won't go tomorrow, as I need a break..Between time with my Mom, time with my MIL I need time away for a bit, although I won't have time away from my MIL for a while. Not an excuse to drink though. There are no excuses big enough for that nonsense.

The "Number Three" winner says "This is the best day in my 4 year old life"
Made me laugh out loud at 5 in the morning. Good for him!

Happy late Thanksgiving, Alpine.

Accountability: Continuing to do well with navigating the speed bumps of life. Some are bigger such as the death of my FIL last month, My Mom breaking a hip and now in the hospital, dealing with my MIL and her increased antics which can be quite frustrating and some personal issues with Mr. A. Drinking would not solve any of these issues and only causes more..I know I have mentioned all of the above before. Just a nice reminder for myself. Drinking has so many consequences all of which are negative. I do not want nor need that in my life.

Gratitude really does help, I've found. Didn't realize your mom broke her hip - that's a tough one.

You're doing so well and have a great attitude, Alpine. Like the boy who took 3rd place.. that's priceless!

Accountability: Sobriety is worth the battle/fight. I know people would say I put myself in this situation which is 100% true, nobody forced me to drink that first drink or all of the others. I can't take back the days/months of my drinking back but I can make changes everyday for the future. The hard work is paying off even during those hard times where the av is telling me to take just one drink to escape. Nope, I will ride it out.

I won this battle, pushed my fully loaded bikepacking bike up this hill that I did not think I could do.

Accountability: Hmmm, challenges..we all have them and handle them in different ways. I tend to thrive on physical challenges, emotional ones or mental ones not so much. Becoming sober has had and still does have lots of challenges which is helping me grow in so many ways where I never had the strength and or confidence. It has taught me how to set boundaries, taught me strength and slowly is teaching me to be happy with who I am. That last one is a tough one because of things that happened in the past. I need to let it go..Can't change it.
