Hi Dee!
Doing good.
my husband is out of town. Made a lot of plans with friends. My cousin is coming into town Saturday which will be fun. Weather has been cool and sunny. Trying to stay on the right path.
I have a running race on the 13th. Trying to stay sober for that goal. (It’s only a 10k).
worried about tomorrow night. Fridays are challenging for me. Saturday is a running morning though, I should be able to do it.

You got this, Todd!

My cousin is coming into town Sunday. So I have a problem because I have no plans on Saturday morning. (I like drinking alone on Friday evenings).
I’m in tow running clubs. One is about a half hour away. So I tend not to go their Saturday morning runs. But I need to let them know I’ll be there. Otherwise I’ll drink. I should text the guy who runs it now. And let him know I’ll be there. Before I change my mind.

I’m not a fan of Aaron Rogers (the football player) or anything. I mean I don’t know anything about him. But I saw a quote from him today. He said the biggest part of mental health is self-love. I hate myself for the most part. But when I drink it’s even worse.
So I have to work on that.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I hear you, love, and I think it is a good idea to make a plan for Friday night.
Friday nights were my nemesis, so I used to cook in advance to get rid of that cook with wine problem. And then I would organise a walk, either on my own or with a neighbour after dinner, for accountability, and it is lovely in summer. The Saturday morning plan is also excellent! s ❤️

We don't have to answer the call of the loon. Just saying. s

I spent many years behaving like an irresponsible child, and willfulness and bad behaviour still show up sometimes.
I do my best, but now and then, I hear the call of the loon, and I lose the plot. Thankfully, that doesn't happen very often these days.

One thing I know for sure is that letting the AV into our heads will never, ever help. But sobriety will ALWAYS help.

Checking in for the afternoon. Had to run to the store to get a few things. And to the DMV because middle son lost his wallet about 6 weeks ago. Thank goodness it only took about 20 minutes. I had a watermelon lime sparkling water waiting in a can cozie in the car as a treat for after.... yum, might be my favorite new flavor. Middle is driving us home. I LOVE being chauffeured around. So lucky that my boys are good drivers. My daughter made me hold on with both hands, still does to be honest. Lol.

Morning all. I feel like poo again this morning and I think I worked out why as I felt exactly the same last sat morning.
We worked late again and picked up takeaways at 10pm which I dislike emmensly but there is nothing else to eat at that time when you haven't even arrived home yet. And I've woken with headaches, lethargic and just feeling shattered. So I think the takeaways plus the late night make me feel ill.. Honestly I feel very hungover..

We don't have to follow the same roads we used to PL - we can write a new ending to our story

You are an awesome cook, Red. So maybe make some soup and fresh bread that you can have after late shifts? Something simple and easy to digest. s

Funny you say soup Suze as I am going to make cauliflower and kale soup for tea tonight, which I'm sure my stepson won't like lol but tough luck..
I have to do something as we have worked away a lot lately and done late nights and we always end up with takeaways and it's the one thing I do not like (Indian is ok). Maybe some single portion soups in the freezer would be good as you can just put the frozen block in a pan and heat it up, easy.. Thanks for the awesome suggestion 😊

Hi FF 5 days is good!!

Red I know how you feel. We end up eating late like that a lot when my boys are playing sports. I started taking a meal for me sometimes. Your soup sounds super yummy!
