M&M's are so much better than booze and don't cause blackouts, anxiety, dui's, self-hatred...you know the drill.

But I get it, cravings suck!

Calmed down and survived. I guess that chocolate did help. I don't know how and why and how close I was but I felt the craving heavily.

Onwards!

Count that as a real win CSC your reward? Yellow M&Ms

OG I think playing it forward is still the strongest tool in my box and the one I usually draw out if I feel even the remotest temptation to pick up.

Keep on Keeping on my Undie friends

Hey all-
Day 35 here.

CSC--so happy you made it past that urge--YAY!! Good for you. Now I want M&M's LOL.

I've been eating waaayyy too much ice cream. I didn't care in the beginning but now I need to cut back on the sweets, mainly the ice cream. I'm normally not a sweets person, but you know, replacement for alcohol and all that. But all good, this is a problem I can deal with for sure.

Hi :-)

done over 4 weeks - I bought myself a new virtual reality headset as treat for not drinking - but only one eye works so I have to send it back ... just my luck ...

anyway - well done if you did another day :-)

Well done, 4 weeks. And bummer about your headset, hopefully you get a working one soon.

Carry on!

Well done on 4 weeks redcardid!

Way to get past that craving CSC!

Sam - I hear ya’ on the substitutes for alcohol. For me, it’s been endless amounts of coffee. Not exactly the best thing for anxiety or sleep but definitely better than alcohol. It is also something I know I can cut back on. I am going to get a new water bottle to lug around with me to substitute for the coffee and alcohol.

Congrats to all the undies celebrating another day sober. Day 33 for me

Great Going Red! Hope you get the replacement headset soon.

SamWitch, there are so many sugars in alcohol, it's hardly surprising we crave sugar once we stop drinking. It is important to have a balanced diet, so maybe you need to use a reward system for your ice creams?

I still eat too many sugars and also need to cut down and lose some weight.

I swapped the ice cream out last night for a cupcake. Easier portion control.

The rest of my diet is pretty good, just that ice cream was taking on an alcohol-like level of craving and not being able to stop eating once I started!

Well...I'm hedging my ice cream bets by buying a different kind, one that has more portion control involved. Last night, I went with dark chocolate which also worked well.
