^ Have a good rest and re-group, AL48 :) |
Glad you had a calm crossing but that was an epic drive!! Once you've recovered I hope it's a fantastic vacation 😊 |
Walked into Bazas today, so beautiful. It was once a roman town and has many buildings and streets dating from many era's. I would recommend taking cars out of the towns centre though. Its all centered around a cathedral. Not a god person by any means but it is impressive what was built. There is a monastery within the town too. I think i will go for a swim next tough after walking in this heat.https://i.postimg.cc/02r7DzLN/20220704-134839.jpg |

Another hot day and i have to admit its been great so far. So nice being sober. I've been spending time with the family im making dinners going out for dinner, walking the dog, swimming all things being done while i have a clear head and its glorious. It was the opposite before, id even bring a sneaky drink to the pool and waste the day getting worse but no more. Now a movie and a mint tea to finish the day and start all over again tomorrow and i can't wait. Below is Bazas 1914 and today 2022https://i.postimg.cc/434PCQB1/20220705-221531.jpg |
😍 lovely!! Glad your having a good time ☺️ |
Walked the outskirts today, the walls surrounding the town of Bazas are spectacular and so high. https://i.postimg.cc/tTpvrQnB/20220706-111124.jpg |
Also the town must be made for me while exploring the narrow streets what do i find only La Cave 0%. I bought 2 bottles a 0% rosè and a 0% white to share with friend's when i return home. The elderly lady in the store was lovely and also patient as my frech is a bit rusty. I have tried one glass and it was enough no sence of that first feeling of dizziness, wierd really but good at the same time. Its just i know what i would have done before and finished a few bottles but happily no more.https://i.postimg.cc/qgfdvB7p/20220706-112325.jpg |
Careful with that, "one glass," thing. You may find yourself blacked out in no time. Are you trying to be a moderate drinker, or do you want to be sober? Once you reach "problem drinking" there really is no such thing as moderate drinking, AL. Be careful. Lovely images. |

Walked into the countryside today and back into the town and can really feel it the heat is getting the better of me so i will relax for the remainder of the day. It is my hoilday after all. My poor son isn't the best either but he has a proper excuse he has a sinus infection, hes normally so active, its difficult to watch him laze about and not want to take part in the activities around the campsite with his friend. But hopefully he will get better soon. so today i for some reason noticed the doors on the old buildings and the colours and furniture they used my favourite was the knocker in the shape of a hand there was a few of those. Great day otherwise Sun pools and good company only for the mosquitoes 🦟 im bitten everywhere ☹.https://i.postimg.cc/3NrdGXg9/20220707-134508.jpg |
I love the door knocker theme! Glad you're relaxing on your vacation. |
Taking a day off walks as my son is feeling miserable poor fella so im staying at the cabin with him, he has viral tonsillitis (pharyngitis) so has to rest. Sparkling water and a book for the day for me. Tomorrow is the drive to the inlaws about 350km.https://i.postimg.cc/QtrYrwNz/20220708-111827.jpg |
I hope your boy gets better soon. |
Yes, hope your son feels better soon! |
Best wishes to your son, AL48, hope he improves soon. |
Thanks everyone. He's in much better form this evening. I'd say yesterday was the worst of it. So hopefully tomorrow the drive to the house in Corezze will be a bit easier. Thanks again. |
Arrived safe and well but we are all tired, happy now that we are here in Corezze. Sparkling water on the cards with apèro and dinner. Looking forward to a good sleep tonight.https://i.postimg.cc/SRdQrJPH/20220709-184511.jpg |
