I still love that Friday dancing man!
Yes, I am coming to the last weekend of the school holidays HOORAY! There have been some great days out and I have enjoyed my son, aged nearly 12, having a surprising surge of wanting cuddles and snuggles with me - obviously NEVER in front of his friends - he is really very sweet!
My Daughter on the other hand has not wanted any 'snuggles' and infact would probably rather gnaw her own arm off than 'snuggle' lol
But anyway she has enjoyed getting to mischief with her friend and we have just about got through it all with no major incident.

My beloved cat has still not returned, although we were given a dead cat wrapped in black plastic by the local council who said it was our cat, which we duly buried in our garden with the equivalent of a state funeral, poems , flowers , tears, eulogies, etc only to be phoned the next day by the local council informing us, it was not actually our cat at all.... so hey ho - we have random dead cat in our garden...but it had a good send off...
Hope all are well.

Dusty - so glad your surviving the holidays, very sweet about your son. Haha my son's like your daughter 😂 he used to be a snuggler so I hope it comes back one day, doubtful though. My adult daughter still snuggles but I don't see her very often and sometimes you just need a hug.

That's really quite disturbing about the council and resulting funeral.......As you said some poor cat got sent off in style. I hope your cat comes home soon.

OMG. The wrong cat? I have no words. Of course here no one would ever get a dead cat returned to begin with, so it says something about the proper way they try do things there in the UK. Hope yours comes back alive and with lots of stories, Dusty.

I’m really tired. Didn't sleep well last night. Personal problems weighing on me as usual after a few weeks of sobriety. Need a long bicycle ride today to celebrate 3 weeks, lol. Almost embarrassed to mention, but there it is. From now on only months will be counted.

Congratulations advbike 🥳

No need to be embarrassed, we get it, but you are making great progress. Sometimes we fall but we get back up and we do better. Enjoy your ride ☺️

Went to the movies and dinner with my son last night, it was lots of fun. Just what we needed. I don't go out much but it was a nice change.

Back to planting today, going to try morning and evening yoga poses/stretching to see if that keeps me limber, can't get too crazy until my ankle heals properly though. I also need to be more mindful about stopping more regularly to stretch through out the day. It's worth the "lost time" as you make up for it by not getting injured lol.

Id love to get into yoga but I'm short, overweight and my torso is long in comparison to my short legs, unlike the tall slender well put together instructors so I never know if I'm doing it right 😂 one on one instruction is out of my budget so I might just have to stick to winging it YouTube style.

Anyway, I ramble.
As always best wishes to all.

Zura - have you tried hula hooping ? It is essential to have a weighted hoop as it makes it quite easy! It's really great way to improve core strength and trim the waistline - I do it to music in my home - my one cats, or at least the one cat that has not run off, sits and stares at me in utter bewilderment.
Increasingly if I do not have some form of exercise then irritability and sluggishness is quick to take hold - I am thinking of swimming again, in the past this made me feel great !
I have now cut out almost all dairy from my diet - no cheese ( which is sad as I love it) and oat milk instead of cows milk. I want to see if I feel better for it.
Sorry to her your struggling with personal problems advbike - I hope you find a way to resolve them - - it really does wear you down, the nagging anxiety it creates is very draining I find. Anyway, bike rides, hula hooping, gardening or just a walk all helps doesn't it? Keeping ourselves feeling good and healthy.
Best wishes to all.

I haven't hula hooped since I was a kid DF but that would be fun!! I'm not sure if I can yet (hip tendonopathy) but once I'm healed up maybe I'll give it a go. Even walking aggravates it and I love hiking etc. I will have to go the old fashioned route and concentrate on nutrition, I'm assured it's the quickest and most sustainable route in weight loss so that's good!! But the stretching with yoga I did this morning is really helping immensely with my pain issues so I think I've got a lil fix in the meantime to get my work done without crippling myself 😂

All good here, thanks! Off for another bike ride. Still eating too much - the more I count my calories the more hungry I get! And I have been battling some allergies from pollen the past couple of weeks and thinking I need to do a thorough house cleaning. Ugh. Not excited about that but I find most house cleaners do such a sloppy job that it's pointless. It's more about surface appearance than allergen removal which is important to me, so I have to do it myself..

5:15 would be very early for me, Zura. I normally wake up around 6:30am. A bit later during winter and a bit earlier in summer.

Wishing all a great week ahead.

Allergies are horrid advbike, hope it improves.

It's not so important that I get up early in the cooler months as early watering isn't vital and it's also dark so I can't go out until atleast sun up. My body clock is just set, but sometimes I sleep in like this morning I'm usually 3 or 4am riser. But winter is coming 😳 I will probably do alot of laying in cause I don't like the morning chill 🥶

3 or 4 am? oh my.. I prefer to get up with the sun, Zura. I'm sure you are way more productive than I am though.

Kind of consumed today by the market drop the past few days. I'm a very conservative investor but still taking a beating.. sigh.

Wishing all a great week ahead.

In summer with daylights savings it light at a bit after 5am but it is still light of an evening when I fall asleep lol. It's autumn now and daylights savings is finished so it's quite a few hours till sun up when I wake up. I also have my cooked meal for breakfast, what most people would have for dinner. I love leisurely cooking in the silence of the morning. I suppose I'm lucky I'm single, and can live this somewhat different lifestyle.

I suppose you get used to riding the waves with investing advbike, I imagine at first it's a bit consuming. But still must make one feel uneasy when it dips.

Oh, I know, I know.
We're all taking a hiding on this....
But trying to be optimistic....futures here up a hundred points by mid morning. Bit of a late rally in US.....I read the WSJ daily and the futures there look a bit better too.
You just have to ride it I think.
If you pull out then you just lock in the losses.

We need those 'buy the dip' kids, we need them now!

Reddit, 'Wall Street Bets'.....the wack job element over there will be posting their memes and what they call 'loss porn'. Seriously tho, it is frustrating. This crazy market has been going sideways for 4 months now.
Us old dudes are trying to live on this madness.

Hey Pline, good to see you. I subscribe to the WSJ too. Good conservative paper, balances me out a bit, haha. Yep it bumped up a bit today after being down all morning. You're right, it's been one thing after another lately - pandemic supply shortages, interest rates, the Ukraine war, and now poor earnings piling on, lol. I won't sell, even if it stays in the doldrums for an extended period. I moved more into cash beg of year, so no need to withdraw when everything, and I mean everything is down. Stocks, bonds, foreign.. everything.. down. Oh, Twitter might be up, haha.

The further the market goes down, the better the buying opportunity (if we only had a bunch of cash).

Hello! Catching up!

we are alive!

Tootled up the canyon yesterday. Saw the biggest rattler yet, he was about 10, moving like an old cogger.

much to say and comment, but driving home from the Grand Canyon rim today around the wildfires raging.

hugs, support, twisting my head (wrong cat?!?!), and much love and caring to all

Hey! Good to hear from you, Free! Glad you are alive, haha. Hope to hear some good adventure stories..

You too, Dickensen, and BABM. Feel free to drop by more often, haha. Yes, it is definitely starting to look like a buying opportunity.

Zura, I have a hard time when the market drops too much, always felt more comfortable with real estate investments because it is a tangible asset, ie I can live in it or rent it..
