Day 40 today. There is some debate, but a common theory is when the Bible says '40 days and 40 nights' it is just a saying that means: A very long time.

I'll take that right now - been sober for 40 days and 40 nights. Biblical !

Morning all. Not much planned for today - a quiet work day from home - but a meeting out at 3:30. Might try to meet my partner for lunch at midday.

Its foggy here but I think that means it'll be nice once it burns off

I also want to say I'm not seeing my therapist til next Thursday - he's away this week. I forgot that...at least that suits my procrastination well!

I'll raise it with him Thursday - of course we discuss this stuff every week but I'll raise the issue of whether he thinks a medical doctor (with the possibility of medication) is worth exploring. Tbh I think Medication is what a MD would recommend as I'm doing everything else already! (talking therapy, no alcohol, exercise, diet etc)

Good morning.

Be123 I take an antidepressant every morning and it makes a huge difference. I also have non addictive anxiety medication I take when needed. We are all different though. I hope you feel better soon.

Early daycare run and work today.

Take care everyone.

Hi all,
I had a nice evening with my friend. Dinner turned out well, and then we watched "Finding Amber " on Netflix about Irish youth and their anxiety around sexuality. we both thought it was good. I've left the washing up till this morning. Bah! Death, taxes...and dishes! I think that's why I don't like cooking! If I won the lottery I'd hire a personal chef and a driver.
Suze, all the best as you review your exam.

Hi Valentine, I too am on an antidepressant regimen. Ive had major depression since my teenage years. Heavy drinking later in life certainly didn't help my mood.
Yesterday my friend brought her own beverage, gin and tonics. The gin bottle was sitting on the counter as I fixed dinner, but I had no cravings thankfully and gin and tonic was my favourite cocktail. My friend drinks hardly at all, a normie you might say. I've just told her, so far, that I'm not drinking because of a change of my medication, which is true. just want to get more time and certainty before a deeper discussion.

I'm thinking of trying a float pod session. I keep thinking of looking it up as there's a place very near to me. Just checked and it looks very interesting.

I've always been interested Leshar but I tend to sink rather than float LOL

I had to look up float pods and I agree, they look really relaxing. Dee, they pump the water full of salt so I'm sure you'd float like a good'un! Do you want to try it for medicinal or purely fun purposes leshar?

Today I'm taking my daughter to her boyfriends and meeting his parents 😱, then son to football and then him and his mate are going with me to watch footy this afternoon. Then an evening in by myself, will get some nice food in

I can not float to perfection in anything Be lol…

It’s a tank with Epsom salts in the water Suze.

Most of the ones I’ve seen are enclosed for the full sensory deprivation meditative experience.
Probably best not to watch the movie Altered States beforehand, tho.

Having quite a wobble today - I'm going out in a second and getting back at 5:00 and after that will have the whole evening to myself - I'm thinking of drinking during that.

Its not for a good few hours so I'm not sweating it, just telling on myself that the thought is there

Oh, a sensory deprivation tank....that I have done. And I will say that I do NOT recommend it.
Take me to Israel, and I will go float in the dead sea. Now that is fun.

Ben ~ I hear you. Going to be here all day. Let's do this together. ❤️

Ben, so glad you banished the beast today. Keep on!
Suze, yes, I'm not too sure I'd like the float pod after all. I thought it might help with anxiety but maybe I'd panic! Perhaps a nice aromatherapy massage would be better.
