Wow, that's cold Sassy. We started at a balmy 9 deg F this morning!

Day six of Covid for me. Still have a little cough and congestion, but also extreme fatigue, which is frustrating. I took a test last night and I am still positive, no surprise. My twenty year old son, whom only got the first two shots, is now using an at home nebulizer several times a day. It has hit him pretty hard. This variant is no joke, and there are many breakthrough cases that I am aware of at my work. Stay safe everyone!

Looks like what was once predicted to be a heavy snow storm Sunday now will just be mainly sleet and rain. Yuck.

Have a good day all!

Star, hope you and your family are soon better. Glad your son got some help and relief with the nebuliser.

Sassy, time does fly as we get older it seems and stuff takes longer to get done. Life has its’ challenges. Glad we chose the sober road to travel on.

Toots, nice you’re going to join hubby for a while and then see your mum. It’ll be nice and warm in Egypt, well warmer than U.K. methinks.

Good morning all -

I was able to catch up on the new thread but didn’t carch up on the old one.

Well wishes to anyone who has or knows someone with COVID.

We have been quarantining due to a close exposure via K at daycare. Somehow we are all negative and symptom free as she has had 5 of the 15 kids test positive. She has the mask fog glasses problem so even tho she has a good mask and wears it, I assume it comes off more than expected, so I’m keeping her home until the current wave passes. Both of my kids are unvaccinated still.

I think what may have kept us from getting sick is that we were just sick 2 weeks before and our immune systems may have been on high alert, plus I pump and give both kids breast milk bc it contains antibodies since I’m vaccinated and boosted. (I actually frozen a bunch when I would have the highest antibodies and wheeled that batch out. The type of antibodies boost the mucus membranes to filter out the COVID - so it’s like nature’s mask for babies who don’t have a great immune system yet).

Well, kids are awake. We are bumping along - tired but healthy with a lot to juggle. I’ve been exhausted for a very long time but a bit less exhausted today after the holidays and move are done. Things are a bit better and I hope that we don’t get sick until I’m a bit more rested. Have a lovely weekend overs!

Sigh. I'm dragging today.

I did go visit my Dad this morning but now I'm just reading Reddit and not much else. I'm off for a short walk which will at least get me off the couch.

Star I hope you and your son get well soon.

SE, great idea with the breast milk. I think there are some devices around you can attack to a mask to reduce glasses fog, I find if I put my glasses over my mask it helps me. It is a nuisance though. I often have to take my glasses off when shopping. I think that how my salad turns out to be cookies when I get home.

Good Morning Overs

toots, salad turns out to be cookies!

I’m going to be cooking roast chicken dinner for mum-in-law and us today.
I have a heavy heart though. Our dear Ann from Whinys and other threads passed away Friday night. She was such an inspirational and good person. R.I.P. dear Ann 🙏

Have a peaceful day my friends. Be safe. xxxx

Star, hope you feel better soon!

Mags, sorry to hear about Ann.

It's a balmy 3F here this morning. A little light snow yesterday, but otherwise it's been a pretty quiet winter so far.

Have a Super Sunday, overs!

Hmmm - it’s a balmy 9 deg F here - positively summery!

SG, it sounds like Omicron is not so mild. Get well soon!

SE, you’ve had quite an extended rough spell. Sending positive thoughts for a good change of fortune

Mags, agreed - I have never regretted choosing the sober road! Good of you to fix dinner for MIL. Sorry about Ann.

PJ

Bekind, hope today is more positive for you!

Toots, I think I always wish my salad were cookies.

FBL, for me 3 F is hardly balmy!

Hi to all and have a lovely Sunday

Thanks all! Feeling a little better at last!

SE, breast milk is amazing. My kids really never got sick when they were breast feeding. As soon as that ended for them, the illnesses mounted.

Deeply sorry to hear about Ann. Prayers to her loved ones.

Best wishes all!

Ah nuts about Ann. I knew she was having cancer treatment but had hopefully thought it was in control. It is weird to lose online friends.

In appreciation for her life and her presence here may we all carry on with recovery and sobriety!

Good Morning Overs

Purps, yes it is our Ann from Whinys and many other threads she left her footprint on. She will be missed.

Bekind, yes, we will carry on forward with our sobriety and recovery.

Sassy, sounds lovely weather, hope you have chance to get a walk near the sea. Do you have ‘sand dollar’ shells on your beach? I think they’re so pretty. We don’t have them here, not that I’ve seen, though we do have our share of lovely shells.
I don’t know what it is about shells but I’ve always loved walking in the beach and searching for different shells, all the different colours and shapes.

Have a good day my friends, be safe. Love to all. xxxx

Yes, Ann was on one of the few threads I visit, RIP Ann.

Mags, shells are so pretty, and to find one whole was so exciting as a kid.

Mags, I haven’t looked for shells though I do walk to the beach. Wild weather swings plus omicron Covid are keeping me inside for a bit. Today we’re back above freezing - currently 37 deg F. - in January no less!

Have a good day, Overs

That is warmer than we are Sassy! We had a snow storm change to rain, now back to snow flurries.

Have a good Monday all!

Good morning all,

I have two financial tasks that I keep putting off - irk: I need to print a bill and find a credit card charge. It wouldn't seem that bad but these have been on my to do list for forever.

Onward all!

Morning all!

thanks for the support boost. The last few months have taken their toll on me.

I’ve been amazed with breast milk.

sad to hear about Ann. Was she the same Ann that was on the moderator staff?

today is my 9th anniversary sober. I’m feeling like I need to make some more changes. Anniversaries bring perspective. Right now I feel like a solo parent with a mothers helper for 4 years and I can’t keep it up. Usually I’m happy abkut what I’ve accomplished on my anniversary. This year I feel the same “changes need to happen.” I know you guys all know that feeling.

I’m not going to drink. But for Goodness sakes I’d like to take 30 mins for myself and not have my list of chores increase by 3 hrs bc I took 30 mins to shower. It s defeating
