Gotcha, I thought she might be across the pond.

I only follow my hometown team. Winning so far!
We are keeping you here! 💗💗

I was spinning some yarn and listened into an AA meeting. I love that zoom meetings let me multitask a bit.

I tried really hard to get into US football when I first got here...I do appreciate it....some parts I love....who knows, in a few more years I may be completely converted

End of Day 7. All good here in Sam world. Hope everyone is having or had a good sober day, I think one of the best things about this forum is that we are from all over the world. I love that we are all here for a common goal, it makes me feel like there is hope for the future.

Okay, I'll stop, maybe I'm over emotional because my football team won! LOL.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the shout out, Citrus. I’m in the Midwest CST. Hi Venus !
I’m happy to sayI’ve completed day two. Which is a miracle in my eyes. It has been months, maybe even all year? I was in bed all day yesterday and half the day today. Finally started to feel less shaky and the stomach doesn’t hurt quite so bad.

This is it. On to day 3. I’m really looking forward to digging my self out of this hole and regaining all I’ve lost because of wine.

congrats to all who went through another day alcohol free and enjoy the rest of your night or day.

Way to go Jewel! I am happy to be ending day 2 with you. I'm midwest CST as well, I have no idea why I thought you might be further!

So grateful for each of you! See you all tomorrow, good night. ❤❤

Congrats, Jewel. Keep going.

As for me, it's end of Day 50, congrats to all milestones achievements today. Ran 4.6 miles and feel great. Good night from pouring Seattle.

Thought of the day: Was listening to N Sync s 'Bye Bye Bye' on the treadmill and the lyrics surprisingly were reflecting my thoughts (few lines below)

I live for you and me,
And now I really come to see,
That life would be much better
Once you're gone.

Last day of the holidays, back to work tomorrow. I'm so happy I used this time and space to start my recovery instead of drinking myself into oblivion like I normally would. Got some big challenges ahead in work but I feel ready to face them now. I've put on some weight this last few weeks so it's time to start running again, hopefully today. No, it WILL be today!

Great to see all the familiar and new names posting, we can do this

Hey Everyone!
Day 8 for me. Last day of vacation--work starts back up tomorrow--I'm prepping so I'm ready.
Like 5upersonic, I am also happy I used my time off to get a jump on sobriety.

I really am in a good headspace right now and I'm looking forward to tackling the work thing, but also I'm realizing I need to establish a better work-life balance. I'm very blessed to have a great job but it's extremely stressful and I do believe it exacerbated my drinking(not blaming it, it's me who chose to.)

Between the stress and the constant push/pressure for more and more and more achievements and the client dinners, drinking culture, etc.
I want to be mindful of that going forward, and think about what is really important.
Have a great day all!

Day 4 for me. I'm feeling great so far. My only side effect is trouble sleeping but it seems to be getting a little better every night. I also went back on keto diet to shed some of the holiday weight gain. Went to the gym today after 2 weeks off and heading back to work tomorrow. Looking forward to a productive 2022.

I spent most of my 30's consulting (software engineer) and I can relate. I used to work 80+ hours a week. It's hard to turn down all that extra money they wanted to throw at me and it lead to excessive drinking and always being stressed out trying to meet tight deadlines. So glad I left all that behind. I actually make more money now working only 40 hours per week and my life is much less stressful..
