Happy new year class!! Looks like I need to join this class too lol

Day 2 here.... Time to fess up and be honest, thought about just dropping out of class and justifying this to myself somehow...

Yeah I know, New years eve, setting up for the gig, gave in to peer pressure from my bandmates and had not a large number of beers and a couple of bourbons during the course of the show, kicked myself the entire evening. Wasn't even drunk, seems like a total waste of 35 days!!

At least didn't go into a 3-4 day bender, stayed sober yesterday, no shakes or bad feelings really, and managed to align my days with the calendar lol... I'm grasping for a bright side here..

Disappointed in myself is an understatement but I'm back on the wagon and more determined than ever.

Hope you all fared better than me.

Dan

Dan - coming back quick is critical IMO - hopefully stops thing degenerating further as I know to my cost.

Macaroni - lots of support here, just being here is a great step, build on that.

Welcome everyone

Good to see you back Macaroni - the best pep talk I can give you is …. You deserve better
support really helps so use this group daily

here’s some encouragement

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...-recovery.html (101 Helpful Hints For Recovery)

I posted to you in the December thread Dan. I actually lost my career for a while cos no one wants to play with someone who is so wasted they can barely stand, let alone play.

I never thought I’d get to that point.

Do something about it now, man

I am really struggling at the moment. There are beers (hubbys) in the fridge and I fell cruddy enough that I want to say eff it and finish those off. Ugh. It is so super dumb. I don't want to feel like crud again in the morning. I wish this day was just over.

Don't drink and the crudiness will pass on its own Citrus.

If you live somewhere cold, maybe you can ask him to stash the beers somewhere in the garage or shed to remove the temptation. I doubt i'd be able to resist if I had to look at them every time I opened the fridge.

Omg. That's too much of a bait. I would just crush them if it was my house. Appreciate your tolerance, but pls ask your hubby for support. Like either he can drink them off or stow it em elsewhere where you can't see them.

I’m just finishing another day one. Have to do this right this time. My body has felt so ill for months.
I will get through day 2 ( haven’t done that in (what feels like) years.

Thank you all for the support.
I asked him after I posted if I could dump them. He is opting to drink them. I will dump any that is left if he does not finish him and ask him in the morning not to have any in the house again.
We are about to eat dinner and I am planning on a nice hot bath. I just remembered that I bought some new lavendar bubble bath. Looking forward to feeling better in the morning. ❤

Citrus - you can do this. Just remember that you will feel worse tomorrow. Alcohol is a short fix to the cruddy feeling. It might also lead to many more days of drinking until your body says enough and you are really sick. EDIT I just read your last post. I’m glad you didn’t drink.

End of Day 49. Could never have believed if someone said I can stay for 7 weeks without touching a drop of beer. Wishing everyone a sober day ahead.

Good night from Seattle!
