Mornin’ venus.
Yeah…we’re both typing.
I could drive to the West coast of Canada. I have three different households of family there, within 2 hours of each other. One cousin lives on Vancouver island, so plus 3 or 4C for daytime highs.
Trouble is; there have been several highway washouts with flooding events west of the Rocky Mountains. Highway delays might be 6 or more hours. It might be better to travel next year once the infrastructure is better repaired.
I won’t stay in this type of weather next year. I’d be going somewhere. I promise that.

Cheers.

Oh TC, that’s far too cold! 🥶
I don’t think I would cope in such a cold place
I hope you have a good heating system (I’m sure you must have).
Yes Suze, making new memories ❤️
We’re going camping for a few days so I might not check in for a few days as there’s no internet connection available.
Have safe and happy holidays everyone

Have fun camping Willow! It's been a while for me. Maybe we'll plan a family Easter break camping weekend for next year. It's not super cold here, but I don't see my wife tolerating winter camping. I kind of enjoy hiking out in the snow and getting warm by a fire, as long as it's not wet or raining.

We have a family vacation planned in February but we are stuck in a waiting pattern to see what covid does. Our trip was originally booked for Feb of last year but of course was cancelled. I guess I don't mind waiting, but my kids will be in college first at this rate and getting everyone together will become near impossible.

Glad your Dad is doing a little better WL.

I need to share this.
I worry about my wellness in this weather.
I get crabby and defeatist when the cold lingers.

Too cold!

I have a full-spectrum light. It is designed for this situation. It replicates sunlight and helps your spirit.
I’ll need to use it.

Hope you all are well.

I’m hoping my summer passes quickly too TC. Stay warm, and use the light.

Oh wow, TC that's brutal. With wind chill, drop another 10 degrees. My mood is also affected by the lack of sunlight.

Mornin’
I’m about to spend a few minutes in front of my sunlight lamp. I have to venture out this a.m. I have some lab tests. I hope my wife will drive me there. I’ve been doing some flooring. My saws are set up in one bay of the shop. My car is parked outside under 5-6 inches of snow. Her jeep is parked inside (bit of sawdust on it, but warm).

I think that bears have it right; sleeping for months until its warm again.

Well, my friend arrived from London with his kids last night. Will accompany him to the Toronto tourist stuff. He grew up here but his kids are born in the UK and will be seeing Canada for the first time. My friend is coming to visit my father with me this weekend. Our families are close. I spoken to my dad an hour or so ago and I'm pretty sure he is drinking. He accepts he is an alcoholic but at 77, I don't think he cares. He has nothing else to do during a pandemic winter in a retirement home. I don't blame him to be honest. He's in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have his car. He will be in this retirement home until February.

Had a great day out with my childhood friends and their families. Did tourist stuff and it was good to see them. Unfortunately, today I have rather concerning symptoms. Body chills and aches which is sign my body is ramping up to fight infection. Could be flu or Covid19 but I won't know anything for another 24 hours I'm sure. My apartment is at 25 degrees with heat cranked and I'm still getting chills. Hopefully it's nothing.

I'm definitely sick. Just not sure if it's Covid19 or flu. Feels like flu but apparently Covid19 has similar symptoms. Body aches and worsening headache. Can't stop shivering. I have to cancel all my plans this weekend and isolate. Fortunately, I'm completely sober. I couldn't imagine going through alcohol withdrawal at the same time as Covid19.

The first time I had it, I was largely asymptomatic. My sense of smell was off. Now I'm double vaccinated but have much worse symptoms. It could be flu for that reason.
