I'm overjoyed to have made it 2 months sober! I feel almost normal :-) I couldn't have done it without the support of SR! 😘
I finally went for a walk today! It was a bit chilly but the beautiful big snowflakes gently falling down around me made me forget I was cold. A new month, a new habit or 2, but I don't want to bite off too much for fear of feeling overwhelmed.
Thankful for my sober days and praying for 24 more hours...

Good Morning all!
Wanted to take some time to check in with everyone. I recently hit 11 months sober and attended my first AA meeting, mainly to build more of a solid foundation for my sobriety as opposed to continuing to "white-knuckle" it. I really enjoyed the meeting and intend to go back next week
Thanksgiving was my first sober Thanksgiving in many years. I still spent most of it alone as my family isn't close or busy, but I did see my sister, niece, and nephew, in the evening for pie (the best part!), so that was nice. The loneliness was trying to invade and the AV was relentless, but nothing was going to persuade me to drink.
This weekend my daughter and I are going to cut down our own Christmas tree, a tradition we started last year. Last year we named our tree "Lucy" and we kept her outside the house until June, and we housed a birds nest which had two separate batches of eggs! All hatched and we got to watch them grow. It is such a memorable period of time for both my daughter and I.
Congrats to everyone celebrating a sober day, and many thoughts with those struggling.
