How are you feeling today Least?

Just wanted to share that my husband went to his pain
doctor last week and was told he has.....

Osteoarthritis
Also called: OA, degenerative joint disease.

A type of arthritis that occurs when flexible tissue at
the ends of bones wears down.

The wearing down of the protective tissue at the ends
of bones (cartilage) occurs gradually and worsens over time.

Joint pain in the hands, neck, lower back, knees, or
hips is the most common symptom.

Medications, physical therapy, and sometimes surgery
can help reduce pain and maintain joint movement.

He wants my husband to get an MRI first before he
can treat him accordingly. That appointment is around
the 23 i think.

Anyway, for now he is using an upright walker he found
on Amazon, but here is the site that has the exact one.

Rollator Walker – Elenker (elenkerwalker.com)

Hoping all is well out your way dear friend.

The pneumonia is nearly gone but am still having pain in my chest. Got two more days of the antibiotic. Got a followup appt next Tuesday. I'm going to ask them to do another x ray if the chest pain is still there. The neuropathy in my feet is worse than ever. My feet are painful and numb all the time

I wish there was something more of a miracle to help
take away the pain in your feet Least and can only imagine
how painful it is to walk or get around.

I see my husband struggle daily to walk and it hurts
my heart so much. Just wish there was no pain we had
to deal with, ya know?

He has his first physical therapy appointment
in a few day which is right around the corner from
us. So, he can drive there easily and hopefully
get some good results.

Then his MRI on the 21st or 22nd in which I will
drive him because he will be on something that
will relax him before getting in the camber and
for his claustrophobic.

As of now and after we talked, there won't be
any more physical work around the house until
he gets some therapy done and his next drs.
appointments.

In the meantime, gardening for me never ends.
It's my own therapy as we inch towards the Fall
months beginning in Sept. Weather here is still
warmish but i'm seeing 80's instead of 90 degrees
which is awesome after a hot Summer.

A tree trimmer guy is scheduled for us and am
looking foward to them cutting back some fence
line Crepe Myrtle trees hanging over my gardens
and making a mess.

Other than that, I pray for pain relief for both
you and my husband to happen soon.

Just checking in Least to see how you are feeling.

My husband is seeing a physical therapist now with 2
sessions a week who is helping him with exercises to
learn how to straighten his back up.

So far so good.

He has homework to do at home which he is faithfully
doing.

With time and work, hopefully he will be straightened
back up and will be able to move about more freely
and in less pain.

We love that it is well worth striving for.

Oh!! It was moved- that's why I haven't seen it!

Least, I wish you some relief for your neuropathy- and hopefully your pneumonia will resolve soon. Thinking of you.

The doctor I saw at urgent care on Sunday asked me what meds I had run out of that I needed badly and I told him gabapentin for the neuropathy that's getting worse. He wrote a scrip for it and I started taking it Monday. It takes a while to show effects so am looking forward to that.

The compression fractures in my lower spine don't hurt near as much as they did a few months ago. I don't know if it's getting better or if I just don't notice it as much with the pneumonia and neuropathy bothering me so much.

The home health nurse came today and changed my dressing. She measured it and said it was getting smaller.

Yay for good news Least and for your health
care nurse taking care of you. It's wonderful news to
hear.

My husband will be going in today for his work out
with the physical therapist today and twice a week
from now on.

She is helping him loosen all those tight muscles
in his legs that is making him limp when he walks.
Then work in helping him stand up straighter from
the surgery he had where they placed a rod and
all that steel in there.

Yesterday I was on the ladder up and down securing
a shade cloth on some poles my husband installed
for us yrs back and I am feeling the same pains in
my upper legs like he has been feeling for a long
time.

Now we know what the culprit was and is that has
given both of us so much trouble in our legs and back.

The ladder.

Anyway, for all the countless up and downs on the
ladder my husband did over the years took it's toll
on his body and now he is trying to get relief and hopefully
reverse some of the damage it has done.

It is scary to see him get up in the middle of the
night and he is walking bent over like a ball and
I cant see him over the covers.

It's only been several sessions right now and with
home stretches he is faithfully doing, he said last
night he was able to stand up straighter than before.

Sooooo, yay..!!!!

Progress is all we want and less pain just like for
you.

Husband informed me of good news while sipping
his coffee this morning. While up several times thru
the night, he realized that he was walking up right
and was sorry I missed it.

Boy, i must have had some catch up sleep last night,
which is nice and i'll take it, but would have loved to
raise my head and see him towering over the height
of the bed, which is kind of tall.

Each day with stretching seems to be paying off. Yay..!!!!

The chest and back pain and pressure are worse. The pressure is awful, feels like I'm being squeezed.

Went to urgent care today asking if they can give me some more pain medicine. I'm in real pain here

Still in a lot of pain. Not sleeping much cause the pain wakes me up. Went to urgent care this morning and had a chest x ray. Going back at 6 to see the doctor and will beg him for some Norco as it's the only thing that relieves the pain. I don't want to be on them forever but they do help.

They weighed me at the clinic yesterday. I've lost weight, only weigh 94 now. The pain is so bad I have no appetite. I just forced myself to eat something so I won't pass out.

Took some ibuprofen for the pain in my back and chest but it did nothing. It's bothering me enough to keep me from falling asleep. And it doesn't help that the doctor put me back on steroids and they make me hyper and wired and unable to relax enough to fall asleep. .

All day today I've had a queasy stomach, hurts and feels upset. I tried to eat twice but both times, eating made my stomach feel worse. . I can't afford to lose any more weight, I'm already underweight as it is. But it's hard to gain. weight when eating gives you a stomach ache.

I would appreciate prayers that I can get a decent night's sleep tonight. I'm so tired.

What were the results of your chest films, least? Can you get any Ensure or Boost to get some calories in?

I'm so sorry you're in pain, Least. I second the opinion to get some Ensure.

Son in law has been getting me Boost supplement when he orders my groceries. I have at least one a day.

Still having chest and back pain, just not as bad as it was.

Had a second CT scan and it showed improvement. I guess that means the clots are getting smaller. .

Well, I don't know if it's the clots in my lungs that have moved or gotten bigger or what. I was feeling better for several days until I woke up Sunday morning and had a sharp pain in the middle of my back. Went to urgent care but the doctor said they couldn't do anything for me and said I should go back to the ER since they have lots more equipment and personnel and would be better able to treat me. I went home and called my daughter and asked her to order me a Lyft to the hospital.

They did a urinalysis, a chest x ray, blood tests, and an ultrasound. The tests all looked good, and the doctor said he ordered the ultrasound cause of microscopic amounts of blood in my urine and thought I might have a kidney stone, but no stone was found.

They gave me pain medicine and it helped a bit. Doctor faxed in a scrip for more pain meds for me to have at home.

They gave me a second pain pill about an hour before I was discharged but now it's worn off and the pain is back with a vengeance. . If it's still bad, or worse, later on today I might have no choice but to go back to the ER. I am just sick and tired of always being in pain. . It's been a year and I'm still in pain.

I hope you can find a good GP least. Urgent Care and ER are good but its never the same doctors.
Our suggestions are usually pretty good too - but there's no substitute for a medical professional, face to face, with all your records.
