Pain doctor's office called today to tell me my nerve block appt was on the 28th. They will call me the day before to let me know what time the appt is. I hope it does some good. I'm tired of pain when I exert myself at all.

Saw my regular doctor and showed him the swelling in my feet and right leg below the calf. He put me on Lasix, which at first made me really dizzy. Now it's working by half, making me go to the bathroom a lot but not taking the swelling down. I've elevated my feet and hope it helps.

Installed my new doorbells today. One at the back door and one at the front door. Two separate tunes so I can tell which door it is. Nice and loud so I can hear it upstairs and downstairs.

Feet are so numb and painful today. My doctor took me off the gabapentin as he said it could cause swelling in the extremities, which it did with me. He's tapering me off and I should be fully off it in 10 days. I don't know what other meds there are for nerve pain and numbness.

I've only got six more days of one gabapentin a day and then I'm done with them. It hasn't made any difference at all for the swelling in my feet. My right foot especially is so puffy and feels cold.

Got a call from the pain doctor's office today. They said, no food or water after midnight next Monday, even tho I'm just having a local anesthetic. Don't know why.

I wish they'd let you know more than just one day ahead of time. That is so inconvenient for me.

Least, that has to be a pain in the butt. Sorry you have to continue to deal with this. When I had surgery a little over a year ago they did not want ne to eat either even though it was local. I am thinking it may be because if something changes and they has to go to general they could

I'm going to be 'home alone' tomorrow as bro's not coming into town at all, I don't think. But not really 'alone' as I've got Billie and Lily and Franny for good company.

I remember when I had my cataracts removed, they told me no food or water after midnight in case they had to go to a general anesthetic. So that must be why NPO after midnight.

I hope this helps. I took Billie out about an hour ago since bro won't be here til around 7 and she last went potty at 10 this morning. I don't want her to have to wait that long to pee.

I'm glad she relieved herself, but it sure hurts my back to stand and walk even just that little bit.

Merry Christmas Least and I hope this post finds
you in good spirits this day. Yesterday I spotted
some socks online called soothe socks for painful
foot neuropathy and thought about you.

It's some kind of compression socks and it maybe
something new that has come out.

Anyway, i immediately thought about you and wonder
if you have heard about them yet.

How was your day?

We, my husband and I, just the 2 of us enjoyed some
grilled and smoked steaks for lunch and I spent most
of my day outside enjoying the warm tempts this time
of the year.

Had the nerve block today. It was a local anesthetic, not a general, but wasn't too painful. Doctor said the effect of the local would wear off in a few hours and that the steroids he injected would take a couple days to take effect.

Sharon, I looked up those socks and they look interesting. The page didn't give the price tho. One of the reviews said they were good, altho spendy. I wonder just how 'spendy'?

My feet are still numb and painful, and my doctor's tapering me off the gabapentin because swelling in the extremities is one of the side effects.

I am so happy to hear your update and glad you got your
nerve block with hopes it will provide you with long term
pain relief.

Least, I researched on google to find the cost of plantis
fasciitis socks and they have different cost some as low
as 10 dollars. The soothesocks are about 30.

I'm guessing that the compression on feet would help
the pain.

Sorry to say that the nerve block didn't help much. Still having bad pain, especially if I walk or stand for more than a few minutes. I've got my follow up appt next Tuesday and will tell the NP that it brought me no relief.

Thank you least for sharing your update and I too
am sorry that the nerve block didnt work this time.

In talking with my husband about his neck and back
pain after surgery was done, he first had the cortisone
shots first and when they wore off, his doctor suggested
having a nerve burn.

They went in his neck to burn the damaged nerves
and help alleviate the pain. He still experiences pain,
but after several of these burns he is able to manage
his pain with just otc meds and taking them just as
needed.

Also depending on his physical work he does around
the home.

You have been in my thoughts Least and was hoping
all was well with you.
