You can always text first and ask if it is a good time to call Karen...I tend to do that these days.
And thank you re the tomatoes....I have decided to leave them be. They are happy.

And TC I think your plan is good...one day at a time, best self and consideration

Thanks Suze!
And, yes, your idea to text before a call is a good one. Seems to be the norm these days.

I’m feeling ok. Tummy is a bit squishy and my eyes have not turned back to white yet. Hands a bit shaky.
Taking vitamins, eating yogurt.

Have a decent, calm, sober day friends.

Off to a meeting shortly.
There is going to be some work to this. (To sobriety). I’ve never shyed away from hard physical work, so, I’ll have to do the same with this.
It’ll be worth it, I’m sure.

I’ve been walking around jaded and hurt. I’ll have to open my heart to what goodness there is.
I should get a sponsor to guide me.

Enjoy your evening/morning sober peeps!

I think a sponsor is a great idea dear TC.....you have been an AA person for a long time, so you must hear people saying that working the steps is very freeing. I think it is. Helps us to release that pain we are carrying around.... I hope you find just the right person.

I also have a lot of work to do to stay sober. I use to work from a list, and it did me good, I think I'll try that again.
I hope you start feeling much better, TC. The meetings and beginning the steps are sure to be a big help. I love the idea of texting first. I didn't know that was the new norm. Thanks!

It started because I was sick of people (my sisters in particular, and this was years ago when I was still living in Aus) getting annoyed with me for having the audacity to call them. Seriously? Stuff like I am busy and I am going to have to call you later. Errrr ok. So why did you answer the phone?

I know Americans are far nicer than my sisters so you are unlikely to get that response, but I just like giving someone the option to have a chat when they have time for it. And selfishly, I prefer that someone pay attention to me while they are talking to me, rather than do 10 other things at the same time.

Meeting was good tonight.
I didn’t feel like going, at first, but am glad that I did.

I’m so glad that we are able to meet again.
Community.

SR is a great community, but I sure missed physical interaction with people.
Hope to continue getting to several meetings each week.

Be well folks!

RAIN !!!
So happy with it!

My lawn (in Saskatchewan) had no green left in it. Was looking like parts of Arizona.(I’m guessing)
The lawn would crunch and shatter under your feet. We’ve had light to moderate rain fairly consistent over the past nine hours or so.
The earth in these parts seems to sigh with relief.
Much cooler out too.

G’night.

You’re the rain maker TC!
I once read a book called that 🤔 Years and years ago, but I still kind of remember it. Called “the rainmaker”. Not called “You’re the rain maker TC” 😂
I really enjoyed it.

Actually, now that I think about it, I don’t think it was called that at all…. It was about a rain maker, but I think it was actually called “A Dry Spell”. By Susie Moloney. I might have to look it out again, I remember that I really enjoyed reading it but can’t really remember it. And I love reading, it’s my happy place

I'll look that book up, Willow. Reading is a happy place for me, too.
It's rainy and cool here, too, TC! Gosh it feels great outside. 69 F and rained all day yesterday. Very unusual weather for Georgia in August, but I will take it!
Venus, I get it, totally. I love the idea of texting first, and will do some of that today. I also have a bad feeling when I'm not sure someone has time to talk.

Been out of town camping and mostly out of cell service for a fews days. Im home now but heading back tomorrow with a couple stops on the way to pick my son up (he's still at camp). Everything is good here though. My wife just spotted a woodchuck in the yard so i fear for my pumpkin patch :-(

I'm glad you were able to restart TC and the meetings are helping. Sending my support
