Class of March 2016 Part 86
Morning All,
Life has gotten away from me a little - which is weird because every day is the same....wash, rinse, repeat
Hubby had the "big" appointment yesterday and we are eternally grateful that the cancer is small and has not spread. Now they just keep an eye on it until he is well enough to have surgery in 6-12 months
Our lock-down has lifted a little this week, cases coming down and I am so excited that I might be able to get a haircut soon!! LOL
Okay - Duff and Susan are adorable!
Immri - 4 years is awesome! Happy to hear from you! I recently returned and I can't tell you how happy I was to see everyone here
Well time to work - still haven't won the lottery so I have to go....blah
Happy Friday!

Hi Immri - huge congrats on the 4 years!! Woohooo
Sam, that sounds like positive news for your husband - continuing the positive thoughts for you both. I'm also glad your lockdown is easing - this has been a trying time for sure.
Along the lines of "trying times", I have to confess I've had a few "day ones" over the past 3 to 4 weeks - and I'm having one today. After about 19 months sober, it's a real disappointment. There's been a lot to deal with lately, but none of it was made any easier by drinking. Dusting my bruised ego off and moving forward.

That is good news Sam
Sorry you're still struggling MITA....I don't know what else to tell you but as long as I allowed myself to drink, I did.
You obviously have good reason to want to quit...don't let those reasons be pushed aside by a momentary bad idea, or a bad day.

Thanks Venus and thanks Dee. Coming clean here should help get me going in the right direction again - I should have done it sooner. I'm a little frustrated at the moment, though. I've been working on being sober for a long time and I think I have a pretty good understanding of how all my drinking has affected my brain - still, of course, the relentless stupid thoughts remain and the temptations are everywhere. They don't make an appearance every day, and often not for long periods, but they always come back. I've learned to mostly ignore them or find a distraction or talk to someone or something/anything until the thoughts pass but every once in a while I just cave, and it's not pretty.
Doing okay today - sleep will be an issue for a few nights, I'm sure, but I can manage that.

Hey Purps - good morning
I actually slept pretty well last night, and I'm now enjoying cup #2 of startin' fluid. No big plans here for the next few days (kind of hard to make big plans with COVID still being an issue), but the weather is nice and I'll find some time to get out and enjoy that.
Thanks everyone.

Morning!
Startin' fluid on the go here this AM. I think I'm on my third cup and it's 5am...lol. At least the shakes later will be from caffeine and not wine. 142 days today and I have to admit that the day counting isn't as important to me anymore - not sure if that's a good thing or a warning signal....
MITA - no advice from me. Just love and hugs across the miles. Honesty is hard - just another example of how strong you are. Grateful for you.
Well another work day for me (off tomorrow and Tuesday) so time to get going. Happy Sober Sunday!
