Got up at 3 this morning to do an early morning Samaritans shift and then got home at 10am to attempt to teach my youngest son maths. It started out ok but by the end, we both had numbers spinning around inside our poor, confused heads. Maths is so hard. I know if you're mathematical, maths probably seems easy but I'm a creative type and maths makes my brain hurt, especially when I'm tired. The last question on his sheet was this one:
Bags of crisps are put into multipacks of 6. The multipacks are then packed into boxes of 8. Yesterday 6,500 bags of crisps were packed. How many boxes of crisps were packed? I know it's not rocket science but seriously, I was so tired I could hardly get my head around it let alone explain it to a nine year old boy who'd rather be outside climbing a tree than thinking about crisps in boxes. Bless him, I think my son knew I was shattered because he said, 'don't worry mummy, I'll do this one'. Later on when I checked the work he'd submitted, next to the question, 'how many boxes of crisps were packed?' he'd written, 'loads' and a smiley face. The teacher had written, 'nice try' with another smiley face followed by an explanation of the answer. Thank goodness for teachers. And calculators. Love to everyone and 24 more for me please xxx

Good morning
I’m on day 3 after another ridiculous hiccup, but I’m on day 2 of my new job (after finishing all the training over the last couple of weeks) and I’m feeling more optimistic about everything than I have in a very long time.
And Suze, what you said to Vovo about the music is spot on.
We have music playing all day at work. It’s wonderful! Really wonderful. I’d forgotten how soothing background music is! I think I had forgotten a lot of things, I was so much caught up in trying to control anxiety and worry, that I was in a constant state of high alert.
I can feel my entire mind, body and soul starting to relax. And for the first time in a long long time, I’m not waking up and feeling borderline panic about what the day might bring. I’m not dreading going to work. If I could whistle, I’d probably whistle a tune as I’m getting ready for work and annoy the household with my morning cheeriness
Have a lovely day/night everyone

Music? Why, yes! Nearly every waking moment..until nearly bedtime. I can’t really live without it when I’m home so much. Lots of ambient and Native American flute music. Some classical. I hear plenty of country when I visit my Dad..the classic kind. I grew up with Johnny Cash playing..he was always the coolest. Dad is a farm boy turned engineer so I’m half Farm..😆 Also R&B, soul and 90’s alternative and techno. I listen to so many things. Work music has to be chill..and even before and after work to soothe during the worst of the pandemic now.
I’ve been up and down a lot lately, but I think that’s all right as long as I keep going. Things are going favorably overall, considering. Someday soon things will be fresh and new, and I’ll be traveling and spending time wandering around the hills. And seeing all the people I miss so much. It really is coming. Lots to look forward to late in the year. Can focus on fitness and just building resilience. And gratitude. And who can I help today, somehow? I’m very very blessed.
24 please. Love to everyone. I need to read back and spend time reading what you all took time to write. I like seeing Kenton and Willow here today ♥️ So many others. Hope 1new is ok. Does anyone know?
