Yeah . I have forked up. Sorry. Today my work got about 150% harder . Plus we have to keep it secret. We have to take on 60 clients we don’t have the resources to take. There are three of us. I already have 150 clients or more. I didn’t deal well. Picked up the second I left work. I am drinking. I can’t put it back down. I’m sorry.

Tanky, so sorry to hear that. I am so glad that you came right here and told us, that takes guts. Tomorrow is a new day, a new start. You have been doing well, you know what to do now. Dust yourself off and get right back into the game. Thinking of you.

Morning all

Congrats on day 3 Barnaby. You're through the worst now.

Tanky - I'm so sorry to hear you've picked up after a bad day at work. I know how triggering it can be. Maybe pour the rest out, get some water and try and sleep. That situation at work sounds very stressful but you know you will be better able to deal with it if you are not drinking. This can just be a one off drink - It doesn't need to turn into a full blown relapse. Please be kind to yourself and pour the rest away - you are worth it and worthy of a better sober life. You have come back here which shows you really want to be sober. We need you in Team D

Day 40. Feeling the effects of bad eating yesterday. A powerful lesson. Some work to do from home today. Will get a walk and XT, Homeschooling, what fun that is. Recovery reading and a SMART meeting. Being so busy with work and tired this week I've not been to a meeting or read any of my books. All I've had the mental capacity for in the evenings is TV. Amazing how easy it is to let things slide. Not that I feel worried at all as I know it is just external circumstances but I will get back to it today. Balance is required.

Take care allxx

Sending hugs Tanky. You can stop - pour the rest away and go to sleep. We are all here for you and you've AA too so some great support and tools. You can do this. Be kind to yourself and try and rest.

How is drinking going to make your impossible workload any lighter tho, Tanky ?

I presume you have as much experience with drinking as I do - and you know drinking massively increases the likelihood you're going to fall farther behind, maybe even make some mistakes and not do the best job you can.

In the past I've drunk for similar reasons. In the present I know its BS.

I reckon you do too.
Your AV wants to destroy you. Don't let it.

Hi everyone
I'm just going to slide into this group if you don't mind.

Been sober since December 26th after 2 years of sobriety , then off and on before that.
I'm committed to staying sober once and for all as I've literally had a gutful.
I know I can never ever have another drink. NEVER.
That one glass leads to destruction every single time.
I'm just finally getting over my detox and the god awful withdrawals & starting to feel human again.

I'm looking forward to a long sober life and back to being pre drinking happy, cos face it, we are never truly happy on that cycle . It changes who we are.

I'll go back to the beginning of the thread and catch up.

let's all help each other to stay well :-)

xxx

Hi Snoozie and welcome back!

Tanky — Don’t let a slip become a fall. Come back before you have to deal with real withdrawal, etc. You can do this! Create a plan, work on getting better meds for your moods... alcohol is such a seductive poison... it acts like medicine, but just leaves us sicker in the long run!

Snoozy - welcome back 😊

Venus - hello lovely

Pain levels have been high and having a mini heatwave, nothing too drastic but combined it's making me rather quiet and boring lol. I hope everyone is having a good day xxoo
