Thanks fk. I run into that as well. I think that if someone is not accustomed to something, they are likely to view it as not being ordinary, or maybe even immoral.

The most important thing here is to provide support for each other in the pursuit of a life without alcohol addiction. I'm down with that, and let the occasional comment role off that would have turned into an all out street brawl on THT in my drinking days.

The other member posted today explaining their response so I wouldn’t let it take up any more head rent FK.

So, I am pretty sensitive. Not a surprise to any of you.
I used to try to do what you guys do.....respond in the newcomers thread.
But it is not aIways so easy for me.....I get way too invested in the Iife of the poster and worry myseIf siIIy (eg ChrisCIare).

I think you are amazing....both of you....and a Iot of peopIe are going to benefit from your sobriety wisdom and advice and encouragement. ❤️

Dee I was over it last night but I did just see her reply. My fear was she was gonna leave.

venus I had to get out of that one myself. I learned, the hard way, to stay out of those situations. I too feel so bad and wish I could help but just like drinking, they cannot be helped unless they help themselves.

Last time I intervened on behalf of someone being physically abused I ended up in the cop car without laying a hand on anyone. He lied, she lied, I took a ride.

No cop cars, but being friends to both of them and trying to heIp got me into a very bad situation where I got dumped by both of them.

My mum warned me....totaIIy different thing of course but it stiII hurts.

No worries FK - I really dislike discussing members not in the thread or discussing other threads but I thought the response was important to mention.

Venus, sorry you lost your friend that way.

fk, "release in grease" is good. Sometimes I relocate fish to Lake Crisco. Lake Peanutoil would be more accurate but doesn't sound as good. The saltwater fishing is mostly catch and release due to size and bag limits, as well as seasonal closures. I don't mind as we usually bring back a good mess anyway.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, without losing any best friends or riding in cop cars.

Happy Easter All!

I am also sorry about your friend venus.
No good deed goes unpunished. Relationships apparently make some people crazy.

I promise to stay out of cop cars for not only this weekend but forever.
I only have one true best friend left in this world and he could do anything short of kicking my dog and we would still be friends.

Up early for a working Saturday here. A bit chilly this morning. It was 60 inside the house so I kicked the heat on so in could drink my coffee without shivering.

Hope I'm the only one working today.
