Well apparently the survival rate for aspiration pnuemonia is 77-81% so fairly high, plus most of his observations were normal when he was assessed at the specialist vet earlier. He will be there for some days while they look at his symptoms and do investigations. We are keeping everything crossed. He is young and fit so we are hopeful

Glad to hear that Billy, although I'm sure the worry isn't helped with statistics!! All my love
My ex (I'll call her that from now on) is staying away tonight and moving out the next few days to be totally gone and living separately by New Year's Day. I'm ready for it and as long as I don't let myself become maudlin (by thinking about how long we've been together or about the things we've been through together) then I'm ok. The kids are with me and she's in and out of the house, its as smooth as transition as I can make it.
That's it really

Morning all
Update on the boy (you may get a lot of these!) he was fine overnight, his cough is a little better and he ate a little food overnight which would have been the first time in 24 hours that he was interested. We are feeling optimistic. They are going to crack on with various investigations and imaging today and we will know more later.
I must say I cannot be more grateful to be sober and no longer dependant on alcohol for difficult times. They will never be easy but it seems like madness now that I could think of alcohol as a go to
Love Billy x

Our dogs are Olaf and Dorothy, I would show you a picture, but I am not sure how to attach one small enough, I will try.
Vet has rung again and it appears Olaf has a foreign body in one lung. They are going to attempt to retrieve it but failing that he may need to be transferred elsewhere for surgery.
Honestly it makes me feel like throwing up with worry

Easing in to my new role gently - got a wash on now to get out on radiators tonight, then do another one in the morning. Got enough food to get through to new year then the kids are with their mum for a couple of days so not going to shop until Sunday (my daughter and I food shop together each week as we both love to cook and eat 😁 ).
Kids won't be back to school first week due to covid so I'm glad I'm working from home. My instinct is they won't go back for a few weeks but that's all on hand.
Finances are extremely stretched but they just about hang together.
I quite like focusing on the practical tasks
