Good morning Overs.
So how are we going to market our mine pies? Are they the perfect assassins weapon, a method for delivering coal with clean fingers or mince pies for those who don't want to share? Reminds me of ... Two Ton Ted from Teddington

Have a god day everyone.

I address you from the armpit of the day AKA mid-afternoon.

I would love to be someone who is always happily busy with important projects, someone who doesn't procrastinate or waste time. I can imagine this other-me going about deedily employed with constructive tasks cheerful and in harmony with life . . . however, that is just not me.

I do get up in the morning and do the household chores fairly well. Sometimes I manage to get a lick in at some dreaded financial project but if I do 20 minutes on finances, I wind up feeling so good about it that I don't do a thing more on it for the rest of the day. Ugh.

In my defense (I mostly have to defend myself against my own self-disgust), I did get the insurance card into the car, called my sister about the stupid lease (sister said she would put auto-sign places on the lease) and I read a few pages of my Spanish novel.

So I'm off to email my poor renter who doesn't have her lease yet, and read a bit more in Spanish.

Tally ho all . . . . hmmm . . . is "Tally ho" the English version of America's "Giddy yup"? . . . obviously this pandemic has gone on way too long for the likes of me.

My thing love is to get 5 things that I am proud of done every day....and I tick them off.
And sure, sometimes when I get going I do way way more, like today.

I spent 20+ years being ashamed of myself every day, and I am still a HUGE work in progress. Slow. Lots of thigs I wish I could change about myself.

BUT....if I can do at least 5 things/tasks/jobs/every day where I can say GO YOU, you did that....then I can go to bed proud and know that every day is a chance to do more and feel great about life.

Soppy stuff, but my truth.

Thanks Venuscat. I do keep a Done-list that makes me focus on accomplishments. It does help.

I wish I was so organised as you both, BeKind and Suze.

It’s December. Yaaaaay, another month nearer the vaccine.

Have a good Tuesday my friends, take care. xxxx

Bekind, Tally ho is the cry a huntsman makes when he sees the fox, so in a way, it's similar.

I find I lose direction easily if I don't have a list. Which I don't at the moment!

A list, a list, my kingdom for a list! I can’t do a thing without a list. Sadly I only very rarely get it all done so I have a new technique that helps: by mid-day if it is clear that I won’t get it all done, I cross off and transfer to the next day those things that can wait ... and the next day I do the same thing. My proudest achievement is putting off something for several months May your undone lists be forever short!

Have a great day, Overs

Miss Molly's new Christmas avatar picture. She is neither 'Merry' or 'Bright' she totally hates getting her annual Christmas photo done!

Ah Miss Molly is managing to look festive and embarrassed all at once.

My Dad memorized the beginning of John Greenleaf Whittier's poem, Snowbound when he was in 7th grade. Some years ago he delighted me by spouting off the first stanza on a wintery day. This morning I made him recite it again and then I looked up the poem and read the entire thing aloud. I find it delightfully dismal. In someways it feels like a connection to people who have ground through winters for centuries past.

Well, morning chores are done now to grind into the afternoon.

I think I already mentioned that I keep a "Done List" rather than a "To Do List" . . . . well . . . if I do make a "To Do List" it isn't longer than 3 items that can be done in 30 minutes. I find more overwhelming and self-defeating. Here is my To-Do right now:

scan lease, brush teeth and figure out next step in sewing the sleeve of the bodice . . . . any other thoughts or ideas on lists are welcome!

Good Morning Overs

Toots, Molly’s coat is dapper. Her face saying ‘mum’s gone all Christmassy again’

Sassy, I love your ‘undone list’ ❤️

I made the mince pies. They tasted fine but it’s fair to say presentation was somewhat lacking, first attempt though since forever, it seems. I’m sure I’ll get it right eventually.

Bekind, you missed out an important item on your list. Time for coffee/tea.

Have a good Tuesday my friends. Stay safe. xxxx
