One Year And Under Club Part 67
I'm worried about Ruthie. Yesterday she started passing a lot of gas and today she's had some mucosy stool that seem to have a little blood. Vet isn't open over the weekend and it's not an emergency so I've got to wait till at least Monday unless things get worse. She got her first dose of PeptoBismal (0.5 ml) at noon. She's supposed to get three doses a day. I hope it helps. It's hard not knowing what's wrong and what you can do to help. All I can do is make sure she knows I love her and do my best.
Thanks everyone. She seems to be responding well to half ml doses of Pepto Bismal every 6-8 hours (breeders recommendation). I'll call the vet first thing tomorrow morning. This breed is know for having tender tummies. I'd bet she ate something outside that she shouldn't have when I blinked. I hope the giardia hasen't returned. She's been sleeping late and this morning just wanted to sleep on my chest while I watched TV nearly all morning. Once she woke up she seemed back to normal.
I tested one of my orchids that is very special to me (I ordered it the day my daughter was born). It tested virus free. What a relief. I decided to spend the money and test all of the orchids and get rid of any that test positive. It's pricy but I don't spend a lot on myself (other than buying Ruthless) and it will bring me peace of mind.

Ruthie went to the vet this morning and has colitis. Many indoor potty accidents (both kinds), including the bed, the car, and all over the house. So thankful for the Rug Doctor spot cleaner. It's my new BFF. She's back on antibiotics, moved to a bland diet after a short fast to allow her to clear out, trying another flavor of probiotic (hopefully she will take this one), continuing with Pepto Bismal. I really feel for her. She's so tiny - 3.1#.
I saw a barred owl out in the back woods while walking Ruthie. I so hope it finds a mate and they take up residence in the nesting box I built for barred owls. I've got the trailcam pointed to the nesting box so if they use it I'll know.
I ordered enough tests for all the orchids and I'll have two left in case I see something just have to have. I will try to restrain myself. Twenty-nine is a nice round number. LOL

Ruthie is eating better than she ever has - on a bland diet. Whodathunk? She is becomming essential to me. I've fallen into that darkest place - a function of depression at the beginning of winter, and CV-19 ain't helping. But Ruthless forces me - with her cuddles, play, insistance - to get outside of myself and just be. I keep reminding myself, that when I get trapped in that darkest place, the world is the same, it's me that's changed - and I will change back. Till I do I have Ruthie.
Look at Ruthie in her cute little sweater So glad she's doing better.....You can always join us on the Soberbus if you'd like some additional support.....and there's the dog lover thread where you can share more of the adorable Ruthie!
