Class of May 2020 part 11
Just got home. Our restrictions permit a single gathering for someone who is alone. Visited my ma for a couple of days. It was very nice. Homecooked meals and I delivered her laptop that we (the kids) chipped in for.
re virus safety;
We used separate face towels, washed hands a lot, stayed on different ends of table and separate couches, used masks when closer. So that’s good. I had a pre-emptive test, before visiting, back around Dec 6 th, All good.
I, now, get a letter from the health authority that I was near an infected person (likely a student) on Dec 11th.
So...I got a negative test result on Dec 12 or 13th (the results from dec. 6th test) except I may have been exposed about 5 days after test, but one day before receiving negative result. Grrrrr....
Got the ‘contact’ message via text first. This was 2 HOURS AFTER getting to my Mom’s house. She is nearly 76 y.o.
I’m hating this.
We take extreme measeures when on campus, so due to that none are considered a ‘close contact’ but we are asked to self-monitor til Dec. 25th, and call in if symptomatic.
I agree Karen. I also don’t want a virus for Christmas. Hopefully the measures taken offered enough protection.
Thinking worst case.....I can’t imagine the emotional process that takes place when loved ones are infected. My heart goes out to those who are in it.
Bummer........
Be well and stay safe friends.

Damn TC. That is not good....but there is every chance you do not have it and have not passed it on to your mum.
I am going to stay hopeful and I am also sending love and prayers. xx s ❤️

TC- I'll bet you are fine because you have been safe. Just think positive. I know I will for you and your family.
Karen- you are too cute when you describe your hibernation. Like a little bear hiding out for winter. Now that I decided to stay home for Christmas, I feel like I'm going to make it a hibernation as well. I gave up Christmas with my family this year so I don't want the virus. Just holding out for the vaccine as soon as I can get it.
Venus- hubby gave me my gift early today. A new cast iron skillet and I made an omelette in it.
I need to pick a good Christmas movie to watch tonight. I should have no door knockers in the AM so I think I'll try to sleep in again and grind a nice pot of French roast in the morning. Have a lovely evening all. And remember to be good for goodness sake!
Hope

I hope it's all well, TC! It does sound like you took good precautions. When Robert had it I didn't get it and his room is right across the hall from mine. I got an antibody test and it was negative. So I know I haven't had it. It's so scary. All we can do is be very careful.
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday!
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday!
Dropping in to say hello and to wish all my SR friends a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays season
What an incredible run we've had as a class and I trust it will continue strong into 2021
Take some time to do some healthy reflecting on just how far we've all come and just how hard we are all working to enjoy a healthy and sober life

Bye for now!
