Class of May 2020 part 10
I was so excited about things yesterday that I completely forgot that it was my Seven Month day! Seven months since I drank alcohol! Yippee! It seems so different now. The thoughts come, but not serious ones. I have to keep my vigilance though. I once had over two years and relapsed. It was on a whim, I didn't know it would put me back into the horrible cycle of desperately wanting to quit but not being able to. It can happen again, and I can't forget that.
Lots of love to this class who has made all the difference to me.

Good day everyone!
I hope it’s groovy.
Had about 10” of snow so far, apparently can expect the same this evening.
Fun.
Wife will have to 4x4 to her first day of work. This will be the test of her new set of tires. Should go.

Hi everyone
Karen - congratulations on 7 months! Absolutely fantastic news to read. Well done. Keep it up. Yay!
Random thought for a Monday morning. Our class could be called the Maybes, but we rejected 'maybe' for 'never' in relation to drinking alcohol. We've fallen out the sober amphicar on occasions (except for Karen, Dig and nmd - huge kudos to you neverites!), but we got back in and continuing the journey onwards.
Maria - hope you will climb back into the sober amphicar with us!
Surely Australians are not the only people that have good manners and say thank you to those that help or do things that please us? When I was raising my kids, I had lots of little Thankyou cards with a gold star on them. Whenever they helped or did something special, they got a card. When they collected a certain number, they then got a special treat to the lolly shop. Many of the work meetings I have run start with introductions and then a thank you session to acknowledge particular behaviours or actions. I think I would offend Americans a lot!
TC - that's an old photo yeah? You don't look 50 at all! Karen's right, sobriety suits you. Hope your wife enjoys the new job and the pressures and stresses are manageable for you both. It sounds like a great opportunity - so congrats from me too.

Karen and Hope (and guessing TC and WL) - so pleased the weekend brought you a great day. Lets hope for many more great days to come.
I've got to get myself ready for work - here goes week two at the job.
Take care all....

It's not so much about the good manners stuff dear Coz, more the semi-polite instructional notes.....like thank you for using the back door during the coronavirus.....in Aus that would get a big . Here it gets a big . No notes to say this is your recycle and rubbish bins and this is mine.....no way. I learned real quick after I moved here.
I think Thank You notes go over well always. s

When Nick is working out of the house and I make his lunch and stuff, I draw a picture on a sticky note, and tape it to the lunch.....happy, angry, sad, mostly happy and love.... little caricatures that I have been drawing since I was a kid. He he.
Yes, Coz, full disclosure: my avatar is (was) an older pic (not the one I thought I loaded)
Anyway...I was 42 there and 19 1/2 years sober.
Karen, you’re right, sobriety was really good and is good. (for all of us)
I’ll move it to profile pic and revert to wolf. I prefer that.
Have a splendid day/evening all!

Haha Dee. A bit of dye and a clean shave, maybe I can pull that look off again.
I like getting grey though, it feels right, I think we earn those white hairs.
As the sober count increases I start getting much more comfortable in my own skin. A counsellor about three years back broke the news to me that I looked ten years too old. Maybe some healthfullness will turn back the clock a bit.
No bother either way.
Just pleased to be content and sober.
Venus the sticky note smiles and caricatures on Nick’s lunch must be a favourite.
Have a good night Dee and everyone!
