OK. Doing much better now. Making home made peach ice cream, BBQ spare ribs, and my wife is making potato salad and a flag cake with blueberries, strawberries and whipped topping. Tell me any booze that can beat that Have already listened to an hour of Sousa marches and am ready to watch fireworks on TV tonight. Always loved this holiday.

Goodnight! Got through the holiday with a run, walk, and short bike ride. Whatever it takes, right?

Had a siezure and woke up in hospital. All I remember is I was fine and next minute I was in hospital. Bit of a dramatic Saturday. I don't remember having the siezure or being put into ambulance. I've never had a siezure before and they're keeping me over night to see it happens again.

Anyways day 11.;

Yeah me too. They've done scans and bloods and they don't know yet which is a bit concerning! Hopefully seizures aren't something I have to get used to.

I hope it was just a one off Freedom and hopefully you don’t have any more, I have heard of that happening. I hope you’re ok.

Well done on a week Cute! And 15 days Jewel!

Bob that peach icecream sounds divine! Icecream is a great deterrent to the AV

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I’m home now and made it through the weekend away without drinking. Weirdly, now that I’m home the AV is going bananas! More than it did all weekend despite everyone drinking around me. Now that I’m home it wants me to drink a bottle of wine from my partner’s wine rack, but I’m resisting the sneaky liar. I know it’s a really bad idea! Sunday afternoons are my danger zone so I’ll be staying close to SR.

It’s weird Dee, all that temptation over the weekend and the AV wasn’t too bad, and when I get home, it comes at me sideways!
I just had a bowl of icecream and the AV slunk away in disgust

my AV loved saying 'see you can control yourself...now how about a drink?'

insanity.

Yeah I think that’s what it was. I managed to make the right choices all weekend in spite of temptation, and as soon as I got home, relaxed, and let down my guard, the AV was waiting to jump right in with a million reasons to drink and lots more reasons why it would be fine. Nope. Not happening.
Kicking the AV’s butt to kingdom come.

Still in hospital. They want me to have an MRI and not sure when I'll get out.T doctor keeps asking me was I drinking or doing drugs and I had exactly two drinks eleven days ago so don't think that's the cause.

Congrats Willow. Been through the same many times. Failed on most of them. Proud of you. That time right after success is tough.

Doing OK Jewel? FF-Hope they figure out what is wrong.

You're probably in the best place for now FF.
Did you tell the doctor your alcohol history?

Freedom, I agree with Dee, you’re in the best place right now, until they can figure out what’s going on with you.

Thanks Bob. I have had so many lapses in sobriety it’s not funny. I’m hoping this time sobriety will stick.
I’m on day 12 and am heading off to bed, where the AV will leave me alone.
Goodnight everyone .

I know I'm in the right place. I explained I'm onantabuse and only had very slight lapses this last month and had been sober ten days when I had the seizure.

It's just frustrating waiting.

Doing well here, Bobdrop. Thanks for asking.

Freedom, I’ll be thinking of you and hoping they can find an answer.

Willow68, You’re doing great! I hope this time will stick for me too.

Off to church, then lunch with family, maybe a nap, and a long walk with hubby later.

Have to wait to get an MRI scan and they arent open on Sunday so I'll be over night another night at least. Hopefully they'll let me go. At least the AV is quiet. Not much it can do in hospital. I'm hoping the MRI gives them some idea what caushed my seizure.
