Checking in....I have today & tomorrow off thank goodness....I'm pooped! It's been a week since I've done any workouts....other than the physical part of the job....so I'll need to do an exercise video at some point....but first, more coffee

Oh, and guided meditation too....no wonder I'm feeling wonky

Glad you are still collecting cards FBL. It makes me sad to think of the shoe boxes full of baseball cards from '69-'75 that my mom threw in the trash when I left home. They probably would have been worth a small fortune these days. In some ways, I envy your no internet connection at home life style. You can totally disconnect from things when you leave work.

Purps, welcome to the world where Tuesday and Wednesday are your weekend! I love days off during the week, as it is so much easier to schedule doctor appointments, car inspections and whatnot. Less crowds too.

Itchy, when I get up at 2:30am, it's for work, not by choice, lol! Though I really am a morning person at heart.

Best wishes for a good day all!

Yes, me too. I used to get up in the early hours and clean phone boxes, loved seeing the sunrise. Need coffee everyday to kickstart my morning though!

Not me, night owl, Pastafarian, pirate, in deed, but not a morning person.

Hey Snooze!

Star,
You sound pumped and primed. Your energy comes across, even here.

Andy you had to have a strong stomach for some of them! Also some of the rural ones had massive spiders in! 😳 I'm sure some of them I could have charged rent!

Toots,
Do you still have telephone boxes in Europe/UK, or are they all but extinct like here in the US?

Morning Overs

Its a windy old day over here. In between rain showers.

Im a bit at sixes and sevens today. Where on earth did that saying originate. I’ll have to look now.

What does at 6's and 7's mean?
The idiom at sixes and sevens means in a state of complete disarray and confusion, in a complete mess. ... The term at sixes and sevens goes back at least to the 1300s. Originally, the phrase was rendered on six and seven, and referred to a dice game where throwing on a six or seven meant risking one's entire fortune.......I don’t feel quite like that, just a bit upside down.

Have a good Thursday my friends. xxxx

Mags, I like that - being at sixes and sevens :-)

I have been having a delightful time walking more now that I am able to. I was dreading the infusions but am now very pleased that I have the opportunity to get them! And I have been working at losing weight for a number of years and have finally found what seems to be the right program for me. Eleven pounds and counting in the past four months.

Have a lovely day, Overs!

This is a good time to get outside and shed a few pounds Sassy. Well done!

Tuesday, I did a 14 mile bike ride on gravel roads along a river. Yesterday, I did a four mile walk and got to see a lot of nature happening before my eyes. Being outside in nature always seems to recenter my troubled soul.

I love the term 6's and 7's. I had no idea of the meaning.

Best wishes for a good day all!

I am more productive in the morning times. New beginnings, so to speak- for a new day.
Telephone boxes are relegated to history here.
Dr Who's TARDIS is a police box, probably the only one left.
TARDIS stands for time and relative dimensions in space (I think, for the Whovians).

Good morning Overs.
The spiders must have been big to be able to open those big cast iron doors.
Have a good day everyone.

Phoenix, the tardis is not the only remaining police box, there are a few and along with the old AA phone boxes have protected status!

Itchy, there Are fewer and fewer phone boxes, some have been sold privately and are among other things, gardens and libraries! The more modern ones have just been removed as they had no real iconic status or aesthetic appeal.

Star, sounds like you're enjoying getting out, me too! Working in the garden, running, walking and golfing as much as I can while I can!

Sass, I'm so glad the infusions are working so well for you and happy to hear you're shedding those extra pounds! I've managed to shift 7 kilos since January, 4 of them since lockdown! I've not been this fit and active for years 😆

Mags, never knew the origin of sixes and sevens, thanks 😊

have a good day all!

Morning Overs

Sassy, I’m pleased your infusions are going well. Great that you got to go out walking. Are you able to walk as far as the beach? Fantastic weight loss. Good news on yours toots too.

I’ve not got the get up and go to lose weight yet. It’ll come eventually.

Andy, the spiders have muscles in the North!

Parcel man has just collected our codiv-19 tests we’ve just had. No symptoms, we're just doing it as we were asked by queens college who designed an app that I’ve been filling in every day since March. The tests seem to be able recognise positive results but not negative. They know we’ve been shielding since March until recently going for a remote walk. So they’re expecting a negative result from it.
It’s funny really, being in the middle of a pandemic, makes you realise how people felt with past flu epidemics and other diseases that we have injections and treatments for.

I read about the village of Eyam in Derbyshire, England. When the bubonic plague came to their village in the 1660’s (from fleas on cloth delivered from London where the plague was rife), they decided to heroically quarantine themselves, knowing it was certain death, so nearby towns wouldn’t catch it. Worth reading about if it interests you.

The weather is wet, looks like it’s here all day. Well I think all weekend actually.

Whatever the weather where you are, stay safe and have a Good Friday my friends. xxxx
