Accountability post

Meeting 1 of 4 attended.

Listened. So wonderful to hear other sober alcoholics sharing their stories.

Woke up at silly-o-clock this morning. Currently 5.12am and it's just started raining. Just a shower I think. Enough to slightly wet the patio but that SMELL oh it's WONDERFUL!

Window wide open breathing the cool, sweet smelling air. If I could bottle that smell and this feeling I'd be rich. But I guess I'm rich anyway for the privilege of sitting here wrapped in my warm blanket with the cool breeze on my face.

Hi all

Brag moment for Coz. Here are some photos of the new deck. I couldn't get it all in one photo, so apologies for taking up so much space on this thread.

Good morning class, day 13.

It's been a week since I started the higher dose of Antabuse.

AV is siezing upon this. "It's been a week so it's probably working by now. You should have a few drinks to test it out. It'll be good for your recovery"

I'm just keeping August 1st in mind. My father will pay my tuition if I can stay sober til then

Wow!! Splendid deck Coz.
Beautiful place you’ve got there. Looks relaxing.

Now that the work is done, time to relax and enjoy it.

Take care.

Coz that looks amazing, so chilled!

Start of Day 17 for me. The weather has turned a lot cooler which suits me fine. Feeling good after a morning walk, really fresh outside. So far the AV has been quiet and I'm really glad of that. I'm looking forward to getting the 3 week goal under my belt!

the more you have a plan to deal with temptation the less likely you are to give in, and stronger you get.

It must be possible to bear a craving or none of us would be sober right?
don't just sit there gritting your teeth either

are you hungry? eat something
angry lonely, some other emotion? get busy doing something, even if it's the washing up or cleaning your room

Tired - take a nap.

Read some posts here - help someone else who'struggling.
Start reading Rational Recovery again if it speaks to you.

Look online for books and sites others have found useful.
Annie Grace's Naked Mind for example...Online SMART Lifering or AA meetings

Try Urge Surfing

Check out the tips below
https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...-cravings.html (CarolD's tips for cravings)

If you haven't got a list of alternatives to drinking like this FF, you need one.

Antabuse or not, you have to learn to face the desire and beat it.

Don't do it FF> Think how bad you will feel-mentally and physically and have to go through day 1 etc all over again. Do anything but buy beer.

Stay strong! Do not listen to the AV. They will try to destroy everything that you have accomplished. The cravings only last for a short while. Try to do something different when you hear the voices, Immediately take a walk, go for a drive, phone a friend, come to SR. Don't give in. WE are here for you!

Morning all. It is 5:21 am CST here in KCMO. Going to have coffee with hubby in a few. I just wanted to check in with you all first.
Today is day 7 for me. Got 6 hrs of sleep. Feel good so far. Going to go get a mani with my DD today. She is the one that had a heart to heart with me about my out of control drinking. Her & her hubby wants to start trying to have a baby & she told me that she wants me around to see them grow up, I have her to thank for inspiring me. She is our only child. She will be 30 in Oct. I am feeling good. Just want to tell you all to have a blessed day & stay strong, stay sober. I will check back here this evening.

How are you feeling now, Freedom? Usually, the urges pass quickly for me, do they for you? Is it just that drinking was your habit for so long, or are you hungry or lonely or tired, thirsty, angry? Bored? Do something to address whatever you're lacking, anything just about except drink alcohol. It will truly ruin your day. I'm so amazed at you for getting almost to two weeks. You are kicking it, please don't give up now.

Mysti, your morning sounds so beautiful! I could almost sense the peace and the rainshower. Thanks for sharing.
Coz, your deck is amazing. A gorgeous scene like your yard is needed just that deck. Amazing. I think you should invite us all for coffee! Wouldn't that be a blast. I'm kidding, though, that would be a bit far, and of course, there's still the virus.
Wasting, I loved your post, too. It is so great to see you doing so well.
Happy almost three weeks, Zombie!
Hugs and lots of love to all of you!
