“The problem is that you don't just choose recovery. You have to keep choosing recovery, over and over and over again. You have to make that choice 5-6 times each day. You have to make that choice even when you really don't want to. It's not a single choice, and it's not easy.” - Marya Hornbacher

5:00am in Alberta, another 24 please, and thanks...

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!

My mother-in-law Kay passed yesterday shortly after noon. A nurse who was not working yesterday took the time to go in to work to be with her at then end. My wife was on the phone and said her goodbyes. Told her it was ok to go now. 5 minutes later she was gone. The nurse said she had the most peaceful look on her face after my wife spoke to her.

I need another 24 please

I am glad you are feeling a bit better Suze. Love to you.
Thank you love. Love back. Again. s

Darling Gabe,

Of course you have the right to be here.....we all do.
This thing is HARD.
And when we fall down, it takes courage to keep getting back up.
Just so very glad you found the strength and will to say NO MORE.

Sending prayers to your family Goose. And wow-that nurse was something else.

checking in for another 24. I have a lot of chores to do today. I received a wedding invitation for a good friend for the end of June. We are still on lockdown and I just can’t imagine in a month being back to normal. Who knows though. The wedding is in a small resort town and the hotels are slim pickings. Not sure we could go but a getaway does sound nice!!

I'm very sorry for your loss Goose.

DC still shutdown for at least three more weeks with infections not showing the declines needed. I'm hoping overall we're getting close to some positive turning points with safe re-openings and vaccine testing.

24 more here please.

Thanks so much Suze. It never ceases to amaze and move me how much time and patience everyone has hear. This must be my 100th relapse since I joined......100 is enough, I don't want anymore.

Might be a good idea to try and eat some toast and marmite or something like that if it appeals to you.....give yourself a little energy.
Although of course it is what 5pm there? Maybe an early dinner of scrambles eggs on toast perhaps. I know it helped me in the first day to make myself eat and to drink lots of water. s
