Class of March 2020 Part 4
Re: Class of March 2020 Part 4
The reason I asked is that I am able to use the desktop version of SR on my phone (Galaxy) and I thought you might be able to try that. I use Firefox, bring up SR and change to desktop with the dropdown arrow top rhs.

Mine is still a bit weird but it’s working better than a few days ago. I stopped trying to post for a bit because it was really bugging me.
I agree about the advertising of alcohol being everywhere. There’s an ad here for rum flavoured iced coffee. It really annoys me because I know quite a few teens who drink iced coffee. Why flavour it with rum??? Why encourage them to enjoy the taste of rum. I think it’s revolting and wouldn’t dream of putting it in coffee, but still... I think it’s irresponsible of the marketing companies but they’re all about selling and making money.

I agree with BE, even with the less than perfect website right now, it helps me seeing others post. I have to be honest, it isn’t good when I see other threads here where some have gone back to drinking. It does make me want to go back there, but I like the positive reinforcement better.
Re: Class of March 2020 Part 4
You know, 'going back to drinking' is only an option for so long, until it becomes impossible to stop. Why choose to return to the misery once we finally escape this prison? And why do any of us think we will just have the option to quit when we feel like it. Was that an option before? s

Lol I think I will just post the full words. Apostrophes are generally only to fill in bits that we take out of words when we join them together I think. I realised from my earlier post that I use them a lot lol But I really am grateful that the site is working I really do rely a lot on the amazing people here to help keep me on the straight and narrow They are talking about maybe lifting the restrictions here in Qld because the cases of coronavirus are quite low. Lots of people have different options about that. I try to not dwell on it too much, rather stay in the present moment and try to make the most of things. It is a magical day here today, sun shining, blue sky, birds chirping and butterflies everywhere just beautiful

Just did a three mile run in 28 minutes. That's really good going for me.
My little brother, I told him what was happening with my marriage and also stopping drinking. Two weeks later he texted me: 'I've got some running shoes I don't want, Will they fit your son?'
They're size 8 1/2, my son is a 3. I thought my brother was an idiot but took them as I needed running shoes.
Looking back I think he knew more about me and recovery than he let on. Brand new shoes, Nike, worth about 80. I wouldn't have accepted a gift.
He's a good lad eh?
Oh - I'm at two months today. Nearly forgot! Woop woop me!

Your brother is what we call a mensch in the Jewish world....Yiddish for a person of integrity and honour.
I moved here to get married to an SR love. Just wasn't expecting a pandemic.

BE, congrats on two months! That was pretty cool of your brother to buy you the shoes. Today was our easy day and only walked 3.5 miles. Excellent work on the 3 miles and the fast time. Good shoes are the most important thing with running. I feel much better running sans the booze.
