Love the new box, Charon! You did make me chuckle with your Darwin collection too. I popped in to here tonight to get a dose of that 'Charon calming' that Venuscat attributed to you some months back. It worked, the box, the snowdrops, the general updates on your life are very soothing. Although I have no clue what a cattleya is!

Everything is okay here. I have been pottering about, pruning roses, walking my dog once a day, cleaning the house, ticking off chores, working and generally doing ok while at the same time saddened at what others are having to endure. It was good to touch base here in July tonight.

My love to you all. x

Morning.

Skipped the shave yesterday. Just didn't feel like it. The long hot shower felt good though. The speaker for the virtual orchid club meeting was miniature cattleyas. My favorite. I really enjoyed it.

Not sure what I'm up to today. I'm feeling a bit lazy and it's overcast, though it's supposed to go up to 60F. Might do the millwork on the cart. That won't take long. Maybe a neighborhood walk too. I really should get out and trim some of the shrubs that need pruned back.

I am cold and moody today, like the weather. No clue how to turn things around at this point, but I am sure I will find a way. Wishing us both a good day.....and Lucinda a good afternoon/evening. xx ❤️

Morning.

Venus, when I get that way sometimes a snuggle under a blanket, some tea and a nap work. Hope you found your way to warm and fuzzy.

The "deliver to your car trunk" grocery order was great. Fridge is full and some things I was missing (bannannas, seedless red grapes, bran flakes, yogurt) are back.

Sold my pony tank. Shipping it today. Mrs is going to take it to the PO. Now I will buy a bigger one to use both as a independant air source and for some diving in places where the water is too far from parking to carry a full size tank. I should be able to get a 20-25 minute shallow dive off the smaller tank. There are some places in Lake George I want to investigate. Also, the new tank will be small enough to bring in my ultralight canoe just in case I see a place along the way on a paddle.

Going to get the bikes out of the basement today. Then we have the chioce to ride or walk around the neighborhood.

Hope this morning finds everyone safe and well.

My daughter (E) called this morning - wonderful to talk to her. She's going to stop by for a walk with Mrs (I walk too slow). I'll get to see her, chat a bit, do a wee bit of show and tell and get some virtual hugs.

Don't forget there's a supermoon tonight.

Arrgghh, I wrote quite a long post and deleted it by accident. It is gone 2am here so I wont start again.

Charon, I hope you had a lovely time with your daughter.

Venuscat, hope you managed to turn your day around. Have you been a little out of sorts lately? You were very tired a couple of days ago.

Dee, warmest wishes as always.

Yes indeed love. Out of sorts is a good way to put it. I won't complain though. Especially not before bed.....it's not good for me. I will be fine. Just struggling with a very different life than I am used to and it is not easy. Obviously....that sounds stupid. I have lost my alone time. It is not easy is all. s xx ❤️

Morning.

Venus, gosh I can identify. Mrs used to be on the go and away many/most days and evenings and I had my solitude. Now I only get a few bits and pieces when she takes a fast walk around the neighborhood or goes to the hill to fast walk up and down to burn off some energy. I find myself taking an afternoon nap whether I need one or not. lol

It wasa great to see my daughter (E) yesterday. Wish I could have given her a hug. Of course she wouldn't have allowed that. Someday.

I cut the 2x4's down to 2x2 and to length yesterday. What a joy to have a simple project, with regular wood, that doesn't require extreme precision ( equals tension). Today I'll cut the joints and do some assembly and stain the wood.

Tomorrow's forcast is 100% chance of rain so I'm going to bake another two loafs of white/wheat & seeds bread. Once I eat myself out of sub and hard rolls I'm going to give them a try. I can see myself eventually not buying bread and baking it instead. Whodathunkit?

So much love dear Charon. Wonderful to feel understood....I appreciate it a great deal.

And I know lots about cutting would....
I can hear my dad's woodsaw as I write....and see it in my head. It was blue.

Did I tell you I bought a breadmaker? On the way.....here by Friday. Yay. It was not an easy feat....they are out of stock all over America.

Enjoy the sun before we get soaked again. s xx

I am glad you had a lovely time with your daughter Charon. I smiled when you were imagining a future in which you are more likely to bake bread than buy it. Out of all of this awfulness, it seems that people are also connecting with a more peaceful side of themselves. It would be nice to think that these changes hang around when we come out the other side.

Good on you for buying a bread maker, Venuscat. My husband can't even find yeast here in the UK so you did amazingly to track down a breadmaker! I think you could take up writing too, you have such vivid recollection.

It has been a bit turbulent in my world as my dad had a stroke the day before yesterday and an ambulance had to be called. My step-mother wasn't allowed to go in the ambulance with him because of the pandemic and neither of us are allowed to visit the hospital. It is very hard as my dad is childlike and needs one of us to be his voice. It is hard getting through to the hospital and we haven't had any proper updates on him today. My step-mother did have the foresight to pack his mobile phone which is a blessing and we have both managed to speak to him on the phone but he isn't himself at all and he is very agitated. Hopefully, one of us will get to speak to a consultant tomorrow.

I wasn't going to mention it here because it felt intensely personal, but then I thought about how you share so openly Charon and how much it helps me that you do that. July feels like my safe space too.

I am ok here apart from feeling very powerless. My poor dad and his wife are going to be going through it much tougher than me. And I have here, a lovely husband at home and lots of friends if I need them. Although I notice that I am much less likely to call on friends for support since I quit drinking. I have grown much more private and that feels okay too. It feels more peaceful, as though I am not amplifying noise if that makes any kind of sense at all.

Anyway, enough self-rumination. I hope you guys are enjoying that sun before the rain breaks. We had a lovely warm day here in the UK, we finally hit spring this week and it feels good to have warmer bones again.
