Hello all! It is a rainy day here in Belfast but luckily no flooding - hope this incoming storm doesn't affect those of you in flood areas too much. I have just finished a big piece of work so I can take it a bit easier today heading into the weekend. I feel very relieved and pleased I was able to juggle everything. This week has zipped by in a bit of a blur.
I'm terribly sorry to hear about the shooting - it is so distressing that these things are still happening so frequently, I'm sure it must be frightening when you are so close by.
Happy birthday to Toots - are you doing anything nice to celebrate?

Found out yesterday that the shooter lived just a few blocks from my place! I'm sure I've walked by his house at some point. You just never know these days.

SE, we have to learn not to continue to beat ourselves up for our lives while actively addicted. We have all learned in one way or another to make amends and move on. My thoughts are with you and your Mom and Grandmother.

SE, Stargazer has it right - the guilt feelings are rough but that doesn’t define us now. Life goes on ... From the perspective of my old age and time, I still have regrets but they are not so sharp and painful anymore.
Mags, Sassykitty didn’t wake me up this am at all (third night with automated feeder). I woke up deliciously late with her curled up behind my head.

Thanks for all the well wishes folks, I played golf this morning and this afternoon we drove to the highlands and have just had a wonderful meal. Years ago, my birthday would not be worth a darn without a boatload of booze in me. Man, am I happier now!

It’s February 29 and leap year. This is my second leap day sober!
Wind is howling and the heating is on....a lot to be grateful for.
