Good Morning All,

Venus - YAY!! Bring on the gardening I cant wait to see more pics once it is all up and going again

Steely - Congratulations on both fronts I keep relapsing with the smokes but i persevere. I have no choice now anyway as I wont have any disposable income as of well today. Im very responsible with my finances so there is no chance i will be spending bill money on frivolity, especially poisonous frivolity.

Bob - I think you did fantastically not to get carried away with the "festivities" and it would have been very interesting to be a sober "outsider" looking in. Good luck with the family visit, sending some extra strength your way. Hmmm more about my garden, im not sure where im up to in reporting that lol. I put in late planting of tomatoes, capsicum, pumpkin, corn, zuchinni & squash and have/will get a yield off all of those (the capsicum is only now fruiting so im not sure they will survive long enough to get any off those). I then did lettuce, spinach, herbs and root vegetables with mixed results (i let the radishes get too big but i make veggie chips using a dehydrator with lots of my excess). Soon i will be putting in my autumn plantings of peas, broad beans, onions & garlic. There wont be much to harvest over the winter months but im going to attempt to keeps some leafy greens and herbs going so we have some fresh stuff. I am also in the process of totally revamping the yards and will extend my veggie garden substantially, including more structures (If you like I can send you a friends request and you will then be able to see pics. I will put up before and after shots as I go). Yikes get me talking about the garden and you can't shut me up

I hope everyone has a wonderful day xxoo

Good morning all. 11 weeks today! I still don't feel like I've turned any corners though. With the warmer weather and normal Spring feelings, I really don't feel like I am far from being wobbly. In fact, the last time I made it this long, it ended at 100 days. Maybe I need to read This Naked Mind again. I don't know. With my wife being home during the Corona thing, she's having people over every night to drink.

Zura, I hope you and Steely are doing well. You too Venus and Dee. Venus-It is so funny you mentioned something about eggs. Through this Corona thing, I found it very interesting the things that the stores are running out of. Now, I would understand pain killers and decongestants and stuff like that, but toilet paper? Not beef or pork, but you can't find any chicken here. Or eggs!! Why? Then, we walked over to produce and noticed one item completely wiped out, onions! Why? Oh well, just interesting to watch .

Morning All,

Dee - Stay safe and well also.

Venus - Hope you had a refreshing sleep and are feeling energised.

Steely - Hope you are well and happy.

Bob - I would be feeling wobbly under those circumstances too. Yes, 2020: the year of the great toilet paper shortage. I think onions because they are a long keeping item, I ironically grew enough to feed an army..... I sometimes think someone up there is looking out for me I thought to myself afterwards.....why on earth so many garlic and onions. Really i just wanted to fill my beds up and knew they would keep without the effort of canning.

Im off to do more harvesting and preserving Look after yourself everyone.

.

I found a change at around 12 weeks Bob - I started thinking of sobriety as permanent rather than temporary.

Hi to all gardeners, coronavirus self isolators, and general dudes who hang around in Dececember, 2019. But most of all .....

Hang in bob these are trying times and your wife having friends around for drinks would be a test indeed. I'd feel tested for sure. I'd be a bit pissed off tell ya truth. Like go drink somewhere else will you? I need a hand with the pergola, can't you see.

I guess if I were faced with same test bob I would grab myself by the throat, slap myself around the cheeks a couple of times and remind myself of how it used to be, and how much I disliked the person I was when drinking. Pathetic, really.

I'd remind myself that though I mightn't be where I wanted to be yet, I still have a dream of what it is going to be like, and how I'm going to work towards that end no matter what. Watch me drinkers!

It's a creeped out illusionary lie bob. Feeling wobbly is normal during times like this, but once you get through it you will be made so much the stronger.

Congratulations on 11 weeks bob. Three months does feel better. Wonder what a year will be like? We can exchange notes at that time.

My best to all.

Good morning all.

Thanks Dee. I'm pretty sure that I'm trying to look at this correctly. If I'm getting to a point of feeling wobbly, it must be some type of barrier that I need to break through. You spoke of 12 weeks, I made it 14 weeks a couple of years ago before crashing. Maybe that is my general time of a barrier. It really doesn't help to be reaching that barrier during the current times around the world.

Steely-Thanks for sending along your caring. How are you doing? Staying away from those nasty smokes? Have you moved into your desk yet?

Zura-I think that squash just wasn't meant to be grown in containers. I keep getting fruit and then it rots on the bush. My peppers look great. Guess they OK with the containers. The cucumbers are look great but haven't got any big enough to pick yet, so hoping they don't rot on the vine. My wife watches over the tomatoes, but I don't think they have even flowered yet. Hope yours is doing OK.

Are things as crazy in Australia as they are in the US? Everything is shut down. Even here in Florida, if it looks like the beach is getting too crowded, they shut it down. Schools are down for at least a month. And all of this with nothing on ESPN.

Venus-Hope you are feeling better. Certainly times for a lot of binge watching!

Things are pretty quiet here but not too abnormal yet Bob - we only have 500 or so reported cases and 5 deaths - it would be awesome if this was the peak but that's wishful thinking.

Good Morning All,

Dee - The devil on the shoulder is still with me. I suppose that side of it can take a while.

Steely - Haha re self isolation, i saw a funny meme along the lines of "When you realise 'quarantine' is your normal life.............". For me not much is going to change in that regard. My heart really goes out to people, its going to be so rough for many.

I hear you about grabbing yourself by the throat and slapping yourself, it gets a bit tiring having to fight with yourself. Although i've found for me talking to myself very kindly has been more helpful. I guess its different for everyone. I've discovered tough love does not work for me at all, which may have been why i failed for so long.

Bob - I feel its time to pull out the tools too as they say. When i start to get busy i have to reign myself in and re-balance everything in my life. Thank you for the reminder.

Im not sure about beaches but yesterday our PM announced a ban on inside gatherings of more then 100 people and ive heard talk of job losses due to restaurants closing (they must have large capacities in the big cities and people are staying away) in addition to the ban on 500+ outside gatherings introduced not long ago. So its winding down slowly.

Venus - Im so pleased you are feeling great today, hope your having a wonderful day. Lots of love to you too lovely xxoo

Hey. Don't have a lot to say this morning. Kinda somber watching the news. Apparently, we can do what we want as long as it is not crowded. Rules are not always clear. So, we are going to a farm to pick Strawberries this morning and we are thinking about going to a beach tomorrow that is normally pretty isolated from people. Not an easy task in Florida. Very worried about people in general. So many businesses are being told to close, I don't know how people are going to live. OK, I will stop and try to get positive. I am on day 79 and know this would be so much worse if I was drinking. It's almost like I'm doing my part by keeping myself healthy enough to fight off any virus.
