Checking in on Day 46. Kind of feeling as though I don’t want to count days anymore. I guess what matters to me, when you get down to it, is if my attitude regarding alcohol is changed/ing.

Glad to be sober and even though it’s tough, moments of clarity when your life comes into perspective make me want to live again.

Thanks for the new thread Dee.

Pouncer, some count days, weeks, months, others prefer not to. For me, attaining new milestones was important during the first year, as I was seeing genuine progress in my recovery. It was also nice to get the many congratulations that I got when mentioning it! (never underestimate the power of positivity!) Nowadays sobriety is a way of life for me, though I acknowledge as each soberversary passes, and am proud of my toughest achievement to date.
What matters for you though, as you say is your attitude, and making sober progress. Confpgratulations on your continuing recovery!!

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Here....early a.m. and very sober.

Yes on day counts: it's helpful to note, like for me, "Day 121, first day to wake up with a different kind of physical energy...maybe completely done with the viruses.

On this day in the history of Gregory the Packers earn their ticket to the super bowl. Wouldn't that be nice and I will be, and that was day I celebrated sobriety. One to replace drunken experiences from playoff days before.

Rambling....sincerely thank you all!

uggh and oh well. Went to bed before halftime. My expectations for the game were very low so not experiencing disappointment.

Thank goodness I've made it through the season sober...couple more weeks to super bowl and I plan on being sober.

My sobriety is doing an inside number. I don't think it's depression, could be, but I've lost interest in a lot of things I drank for, and sports are one. Yet, I think this started more than a year ago...there has been no interest in fostering or building relationships, physical energy low, lack of creative motivation.

Yet, I haven't had depressive hurtful thoughts.

I think I'm getting old and changing what's important to me.

I didn't make any resolutions, but with very little effort there are some things I can start doing. Get back to you on them.

Everyone have a great day. Stay warm.

So sorry to hear about the Packers, Wisc. I imagine the packers are a sort of religion in your neck of the woods.

Well, speaking of counting, I am on Day 48. I am just happy that this time, sobriety feels different.

And now you're 49er! half century tomorrow Pouncer! (Too soon Wisc?)

Wisc, I went through a similar thing for a while, my enjoyment of some situations just wasn't the same without drinking, but a also as you said, we can grow emotionally away from some things. It's worth considering PAWS might be having an effect on you.
Also I went through a very real grieving process during the first year, I had lost my 'best friend' who shared my highs and lows. I was having to make very real adjustments emotionally without the 'support' of alcohol.
You are doing so well Wisc, remember to note these things to talk to your shrink about, it may also be something to consider regarding medication. And keep close to SR. ( as much because we love seeing you as anything else!)

toots -- thank you. First I'm over it. They got beat bad...which makes it easier. I always pull for NFC so Go 'Niners.

Thank you for your post about energy and motivation....likes and adjustments.

Doing well today. Checking out a lady advertising to clean. Something temporary for 2 hours a week. Several years I had a service come in and it really help.

Feeling overwhelmed with housekeeping. And the feeling itself, leads to irrational behavior concerning drinking and using.

OK...everyone have a wonderous day.

Having someone help you around the house is a great way to care for yourself and make you feel less isolated. Sounds good.

Taking care of my dog today who had eye surgery yesterday. Poor thing is puffed up and looks like the devil.

18 weeks....feeling well....made it through a couple respiratory viruses without self=medicating. No alcohol OTC no drinking no pot.

Today I think I am recovered in many areas (manageable) and recovering in many more parts.

Thanks to all of you!
