Pouncer - No smoke anymore, we can see the lovely blue sky again. So there is the brightside right there. Illustrating & printmaking! How wonderful. I hope you enjoy your new work space. Hope puppy makes a speedy recovery.

Steely - Sorry about the family stress but you have a great attitude that is serving you well.
Red - Gorgeous photos. So glad you had a lovely sober birthday weekend. Beautiful scenery, i definitely have hiking envy.
Venus - Sending healing hugs your way. Dentist stuff is so yuck.
Bob - Australia does get tornadoes apparently but mostly on the western side where its not densely populated & not frequently reported. No idea of the science of it all but it would be interesting study. I hope you start to feel better soon, the extended withdrawal can be a bit brutal. It is motivating me to never go back to drinking though.
Vinny - Hope your doing well. Those photos are breathtaking alright, makes me want to get on a flight to NZ.

I hadn't heard about it as I usually only follow the news in local emergency situations. What a hardcore summer, hopefully everyone affected gets back on their feet soon and get nice normal fun vacations next year.

A very productive day, but hot.
Lots of gardening, worked up a sweat.

Cleaned the dust from indoors. It was so thick. My body feels coated in a fine film of dust. Tacky.

Meteorology would be interesting to study Zura. So would neuroscience. Think I've left my run a bit too late.

Have decided with my brother with schizophrenia, that madness is no longer an excuse. wonder what he'll say?

If they weren't so horrible they would be amazing. Glad I wasn't there either, choking monsters. Oxygen masks out.

The rain we've had is beautiful. It's quietened the dust in the air, and soaked the ground. Bloody Australia. I love it too as Snoozie says. ❤️

Three US firefighters have died when their aircraft came down fighting bushfires in NSW. I am so sorry.

Flags are flying at half mast. Such tragic news.

So appreciative of them...they came to help us.

These bushfires have taken so much.

My heartfelt condolences to their families.

Steely-It is a very sad thing. Not because it was overseas, but just sad. I will say though, these people choose to live with risk everyday and wouldn't have it any other way. My youngest son is currently training to be an EMT/Firefighter and they know this going in. For most of his youth, he planned on going into the military and recently decided to change to this path. These are the people that ran towards the world trade center on 9/11. They are the best.

It is indeed very sad about the firefighters. My heart goes out to their families. Loss is hard no matter the circumstances. Counting my many blessings today.

Good morning class. Day 24 here. Gosh, I hope I didn't say something wrong. I was just expressing honor for the people that do that work, not trying to rebuke any other comments made. Steely, are we good? Zura?

I now feel about as good as I have since before Christmas. It really scares me that it has taken this long. NEVER AGAIN! I had 28 days right before Thanksgiving, so I can't wait to go past that. Had 47 the month before in October, so I guess that will be the next milestone after 28.
