Today is day 1 of my phone detox and it's already tough. I always look at my phone on the train to work but today I'll have to close my eyes and meditate instead. I'm allowing myself to still make and receive calls/messages/whatsapps on my phone and I can still check emails and log into SR on my phone but that is it. No more checking the news or anything else. I've realised that I am addicted to the news. And it's not doing me any good. I can still listen to the news on the radio or TV but I don't need to be checking for breaking news stories loads of times each day. It's a total waste of time and I think it causes me anxiety. And I'm not even sure how much of what I'm reading is true. Seems to depend on who is reporting. So I'm taking a break. Will keep a journal and see how I do. See whether there is a link to the incessant consumption of news and anxiety. Love to everyone and 24 more for me please xxxx

The thing with sports, is watching them sober now...I'm not crushed when my team loses nor continue to drink over it, or to celebrate wins.
I haven't bet money on any games for at least 7 years. Nor have I bought lottery tickets for 6 months.
Money and alcohol don't have a place in my enjoying sports/entertainment.
