I am approaching almost 2 weeks sober after another 2 month bender. Staying in and binging on a TV show about vampires (True Blood). New decade, new life.

Count me in. I was moved very much by the death of an SR member recently. I bought a Sega Genesis mini console with 40 games pre-loaded. I played these games as a 14 year old. Nostalgia is a better drug than beer!

I started watching True Blood after my relapse in 2014.....no idea why exactly, but it helped me big time. Such a great distraction during withdrawal.

Wonderful to see you love. s ❤️

And I hear you re losing an SR....it was and still is a big shock, especially for all of you who were close with her. s xx

WL, I'm glad you found something that's helping you to feel a bit better. That's what it's all about. And, starting 2020 with two weeks of sobriety is great.

Welcome LFM and Reid and best wishes for a happy and healthy new year.

Hello, I've been lurking here for quite some time. I had 3 months last fall and then another 2 this fall. I am a bottle of wine a night homemaker. My son's friend's mother recently passed from liver complications from alcohol. And how did I cope? More alcohol. I now have 5 days and the anxiety is passing and I am ready to take on 2020.

Welcome to all committing or recommitting to sobriety in January of 2020! I have been a member of several classes, but the January of 2016 class is the one that I finally made sobriety stick with. On January 1st I’ll celebrate four years of sobriety with a few of my classmates. Each of you can be that support for each other!

Happy New Year! Looking forward to following all of your stories!

❤️Delilah

Well, I'm about to turn in for the night. 30 hours sober. And I feel good. Content. 2019 is a memory and 2020 is a new hope for health, wellness, being present. Im glad for all you others who posted today. I'll be praying for us all...mostly for freedom and joy and peace as we take one day at a time. Sending big hugs with my prayers too.

All our wine never did us much good. In fact, it deeply hurt us. I'm here with you. Same story. Let's welcome 2020 with a new freedom and health and peace. We're worth it. 👌💗

My Day 5 ends at midnight, but the January class seems like the right one to me. Happy New Year, everyone. Wishing all of us health, peace, and sobriety.

Just over 3 hours till it's Jan 1 2020 here, and day 2 over for me.

I'm grateful and relieved to be spending a quiet night at home. I'll get to wake up to a new year hopeful, which is something I haven't felt for a while.

I wish everyone had, is, or will be having a safe and Happy New Year!
