24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 466
7 years ago today I came home after being gone for 30 days in my first-ever Sober Rehab. Now that was a life altering experience --- in so many areas of my life.
All day I've felt an immense amount of gratitude in my heart.
Thank you to my HP, My Family, AA, & to SR for my life today.
I'm definitely in for my next 24!

Yesterday morning my daughters made the most fantastic gingerbread train. It looked and smelt incredible. When we left to go to the cinema yesterday afternoon, I was rushing about tidying up etc and I said seven, maybe eight times ... 'remember to put the gingerbread train up high somewhere or lock the dog out of the kitchen'. 'Yeah, yeah' came the replies. When we got back from the cinema, the kitchen door was open and the gingerbread train had disappeared. Chugged off to the gingerbread train station in the sky. And for a moment I wondered whether the dog was to blame. Normally he looks guilty after devouring all our food but yesterday there was no sign of guilt or remorse. He just acted hungry. As usual. But the train had gone. Strange. Then last night at 1.30am I was awoken to the sounds and aromas that no one ever wants to be awoken to. The dog was clearly the culprit and the gingerbread train clearly wasn't digesting too well. Won't go into details but added to my very long 'to do' list this morning is 'hire a carpet cleaner'. Finally finished cleaning up as best I could just before 3am when the dog had the cheek to run to his food bowl and give me his best 'is it breakfast time yet? Is it?' face. Just got back from visiting the vet and happy to report that the dog is absolutely fine. Not sure the same can be said for my carpet but I will try my best to get that sorted too. Feeling a bit tired but other than that it's business as normal. Onwards. Love to everyone and 24 more for me please xxxx
