24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 461
Sending my love to you Leigh ...... ❤️❤️❤️

Morning all. 3:45am in the U.K. and I can’t sleep as it’s so quiet!
The reason it’s so quiet is that I’ve just had a couple of weeks in hospital because of a couple of conditions bought on by long term alcohol abuse - can’t remember what the said to me when I was first admitted as really wasn’t quite with it (I hadn’t been drinking, but it was just my body playing up as it adjusted to not getting its regular dose) but I spent a week on drips for that - not constantly but 3-4 bags a day - had a day drip free and then developed something called DKA (diabetic keto acidosis. I’m not diabetic but it is called that as it most commonly affects diabetics. So another few days back on the drip to get that sorted.
So it’s been a couple of weeks of sharing a ward with 5 other beds (probably around 10 people passed through while I was there) with all the noise that brings - plus the observations during the night.
Being a numpty I’d forgotten my phone charger so couldn’t access the internet.
Saw my GP today for a quick catchup and this is his area of expertise. He advised that al though the ‘dangerous’ time is the first few days, it is possible for what I had to develop as much as 2 months in to sobriety so please people, if you’re worried about anything no matter how far in to sobriety you are please speak to your GP.
Anyway, enough of my rambles.
24 for me please.
